Indian FTR 1200 S Race Replica is in the PH, priced at Php 1.29 million
MANILA: The American motorcycle lovers in the Philippines have just been served with a delicious treat as the Indian FTR 1200 S Race Replica makes its way to the Filipino shores. Both Toti and Ted Alberto from Access Plus Philippines, the official distributor of Indian motorcycles in the country were present at the launch event and praised the Indian Motorcycles and their abilities. Better known for its cruisers, Indian Motorcycles was not a part of the motorsports arena until the "Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew" won multiple flat-track racing titles in the 1950s and brought the brand to the motorsports space.
However, the American motorcycle manufacturer soon drifted away from motorsports and once again started emphasising on cruisers. And then, it was the FTR 750 that made its debut at the 2017 American Flat Track championship and gave the automaker's motorsports wings a new flight. A street-legal model was seen hitting the roads soon. "The FTR is a lot more streamlined, compact, being derived from racing. Its engine is not only lighter and smaller, but packs more horsepower", said Ted Alberto.
Modern-day features and creature comforts present on the FTR 1200 and the FTR 1200 S models include all LED lighting, USB charging port, ABS, cruise control, 4.3-inch Ride Command LCD touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity, lean-angle-sensitive stability control, wheelie mitigation control, traction control, and fully-adjustable front and rear suspension.
Talking about the powerhouse, it is a 1,203 cc V-twin engine that powers both the FTR 1200 and the Race Replica models. The power figures read 123 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 120 Nm. Upside down forks at the front, dual Brembo brakes, rear suspension & swingarm similar to the FTR 750, ProTaper flat-tracker aluminium handlebars, under-seat fuel tank, and a trellis frame provide both the FTR models with solid performance capabilities. Moreover, Indian Motorcycles has placed the air-box right above the engine for enhanced airflow. The motorcycles get a chain final drive and ride on Dunlop street tyres that feature flat-track-inspired treads.
Different Indian FTR 1200 variants and their prices are as follows:
- Indian FTR 1200 (Thunder Black) – Php 995,000
- Indian FTR 1200 S (Indian Red over Steel Gray; Titanium Metallic over Thunder Black Pearl) – Php 1,195,000
- Indian FTR 1200 S Race Replica – Php 1,298,000
Note that while the Indian FTR 1200 S is available in Indian Red over Steel Gray and Titanium Metallic over Thunder Black Pearl finishes, the Indian FTR 1200, on the other hand, can be had in Thunder Black only. The motorcycles come in limited quantity, so you better hurry up and get one for yourself before Access Plus Philippines runs out of stock.
