Kymco Xciting 300i 4V: Features explained

Kymco Xciting 300i 4V: Features explained

Kymco has been in the Philippines for a decade now and during all these years, it has learned a lot about the local market and utilised that knowledge in developing a rich and attractive product portfolio for the Filipinos. The brand has a vast range of products available including underbone two-wheelers and ATVs. One of its most popular products is the Xciting 300i 4V - a 300 cc scooter with modern styling, smooth engine, and utilitarian features. In this story, we are going to discuss some of the top features of the Xciting 300i 4V in an attempt to try and understand why it’s so popular.

Styling

This is perhaps one of the USPs of the Kymco Xciting 300i 4V. In fact, Kymco’s entire Xciting range of scooters shares a similar design philosophy. The 300i 4V has a modern design that features an aggressive front with a large windscreen. Its side panels/fairings are quite sharp and impart a sporty look. Even the rear end looks sporty thanks to the stylish taillight.

LED headlights

The Xciting 300i 4V features a twin headlight setup that not only provides better illumination but also looks pretty neat. Oh, and these don’t come with the conventional halogen bulbs and are fitted with the latest LED units. So, with the LED headlamp, you get better illumination at low power consumption.

Large under seat storage

Kymco understands that under seat storage of a scooter is an important feature. Therefore, it has provided the Xciting 300i 4V with a large under seat storage. It’s large enough to accommodate a full-face helmet along with a few other small items without any issue.

Multi-functional digital instrument panel

The Xciting 300i 4V has a multi-functional digital instrument panel which consists of the usual tell-tale lights and a digital screen which shows the speed, time, engine temperature, fuel level, odometer, and whatnot! What’s interesting about this multi-functional digital instrument panel is the smart integration of an analogue tacho with the digital system.

Convenient features

Kymco has added a couple of convenient features on the Xciting 300i to make your life a bit easier. There’s a front fuel filler which allows for quick and easy refuelling reducing filling time at fuelling stations. You also get a 12 V charger socket so that you can charge your smartphone in case you are running out of battery.

Anti-lock braking system

We are glad to report that the Kymco Xciting 300i 4V specs sheet shows disc brakes on both the wheels (front 260 mm, rear 240 mm). But that’s not all of it. Kymco has also equipped the Xciting 300i with Bosch dual channel ABS to improve the braking efficiency. The ABS prevents wheels from locking under sudden or panic braking situations. Also, the wide 120 section tyre at the front and 150 section tyre at the rear provide a good grip and help in reducing the braking distance.

Engine

Powering the Kymco Xciting 300i is a 299 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which comes with four-valves. It has been tuned to churn out a max power of 29 hp at 7,500 rpm and 30.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. These are some healthy figures for a scooter of this capacity. Riding the Xciting 300i in the city, especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic, is a breeze as the on/off throttle transition is pretty smooth thanks to the fuel injection system.

Ride quality

The suspension setup on the Xciting 300i is conventional telescopic forks at the front and a double swing setup at the rear with 5 steps preload adjustment. The tuning of the suspension setup is done as such to provide a comfortable ride quality.

These were some of the top features of the Xciting 300i. Which one of these is your favourite? Do let us know if you have any other feature in mind. As far as the Kymco Xciting 300i 4V price is concerned, you will need to spend Php 239,000 to own it. It’s available black and white color options and comes with a 12,000 km or 12 months (whichever comes first) warranty.
