Lambretta is set to make a comeback in the Philippines
MANILA: One of the acclaimed names in the world of automobiles, Lambretta is set to make a comeback in the Philippines. The Iconic scooter brand has signed a contract with the Ropali Group of Companies, a motorcycle retail chain, to distribute models across the nation. The partnership saw the light of day in the presence of dignitaries from both sides at the flagship Ropali Classics showroom. Lambretta’s international sales manager was present on the day to look after the proceedings on behalf of the Italian brand.
The comeback of Lambretta has been made possible due to a joint venture between Lambretta Consortium in Switzerland and Austrian KSR Group, which has given rise to the new Lambretta V-Special range.
The V-Special range has been designed by the world-renowned motorcycle design company, KISKA from Austria. Prior to this, the company has worked with brands like CF MOTO, KTM, and Husqvarna. The new range of Lambretta scooters has been given a modern outlook while retaining its heritage styling and old-school character. Some notable facets of the design include steel body, iconic fixed front fender, interchangeable side panels, LED lights, wireless connectivity in form of Bluetooth, aluminium highlights, and brand’s traditional badges.
What makes Lambretta's new range unique is that the customers are allowed to choose from a set of side panels, shapes, and colours, based on their preferences and tastes.
Initially, there will be three engine sizes available – 50cc, 125cc, and 200cc. However, the brand plans to bring in the larger 400cc engine sometime in 2018 along with an electric scooter.
Ariane Alingog, the President of the Ropali Group of Companies said, “As the country’s leading motorcycle and scooter retailer, we intend to imprint Lambretta into the consciousness of our enthusiast-customers, as we fully intend for our market to embrace Lambretta, the scooter acknowledged worldwide as a cult classic.”
Ropali has a total of 124 retail stores across the country and possesses considerable experience in distributing a wide range of two-wheelers. Ropali is a trusted partner for the brands like KTM, Royal Enfield, Kymco, CPI, and Ural Motorcycles.
Aldous Rex Alingog, the General Manager of the Ropali Group of Companies said, “It is an honor to be able to work with Lambretta, a globally recognized, authentic and historically renowned Italian scooter icon.”
The first batch of Lambretta scooters is expected to arrive by June 23. The prices of the models would also be revealed then.
