Major reveals at EICMA 2018
EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Cico Motociclo e Accessori) has always been the top pick for the moto enthusiasts as it’s the motorcycle industry's largest annual trade show on the planet. EICMA takes place in Milan, Italy, mostly in the month of November. Many automobile giants showcase their updated and about to launch vehicles along with concepts every year. And if we talk about EICMA 2018, it came up to be much more exciting with launches such as the BMW S1000RR and Ducati Panigale V4 R. Anyways, what else was the excitement all about? Let’s check out.
Royal Enfield KX Concept
This year the Indian automaker Royal Enfield has also come up with an interesting concept. The Royal Enfield KX Concept brings a new taste for the modern bobber lovers with a cutting-edge design powered by an 838cc V-twin engine. As per the concept’s designing team, it took six months for them to come up with the looks of this concept. Apart from a liquid-cooled heart, the modern bobber also gets a single-sided swingarm, cast girder front, and the seemingly ‘sculpted’ seat to satisfy the eyes. With a lot of options already there in the Royal Enfield stable, let's see does this concept comes out in its final form.
Aprilia RS 660 Concept
Piaggio's Aprilia also presented a masterpiece of its invincible engineering. Aprilia RS 660 Concept is an incredible modern middleweight supersport machine that is sure to set a new benchmark in its segment.
Powering the Aprilia RS 660 is a powerful parallel-twin engine that has been derived from the existing Aprilia RSV4 1100/Tuono V4 1100. Aluminium chassis and swingarm offered on the concept are meant to provide overwhelming ride quality and high stability. The concept also gets the Aprilia Active Aerodynamics (A3) suite, making it the first of its kind to feature such tech.
Kawasaki Z400
As everyone has already seen the Kawasaki Ninja 400. Well, there are no huge technical differences between the Ninja 400 and Kawasaki Z400. Both the motorcycles are built on the same chassis and feature the same powertrain. So, one can’t actually complain about the ride quality Z400 will offer as we all know that Kawasaki’s Z Series bikes pack great handling and high-end performance under the skin of a modern roadster.
BMW S1000RR
After passing on the unsymmetrical body design on the BMW S1000RR in the previous generations. BMW Motorrad has finally come up with a refined beauty with completely redesigned fairings and highly stable chassis. This elegant beauty runs on an all-new 998cc inline-4 that churns out 207 PS and 112.5Nm of torque.
Apart from the great power and torque figures, new-gen BMW S1000RR gets an all-new electronics package with a new digital instrument panel that provides you with four riding modes - Race Pro mode – on top of the standard Rain, Sport, Dynamic. The Race provides with fine-tuned traction, wheelie and engine-braking controls including launch control and a pit-lane limiter as well. Check out the BMW line-up in the Philippines.
Honda CB650R
Honda has been working on an inline-four middleweight roadster for a long time, and they have already showcased many concepts on the 650cc inline-four platform. This year, the Japanese automaker recently made a world debut of its CB650R which is based on the brands own upgraded CBR650R.
After the arrival of Honda CB650R in the markets, riders will get to experience a new flavour in Honda’s roadster lineup after the CB250R and CB1000R.
Ducati Panigale V4 R
Ducati has always surprised its fans with extreme beauties all around like the 1299 Superleggera, Panigale series, Scrambler series, and other models. This time the Italian brand has come up with the world debut of its Panigale V4 R at EICMA 2018. Ducati Panigale V4 R is a 234 PS powerhouse which offers up to 112Nm of peak torque that kicks in at 16,500rpm.
To make it the most powerful street-legal motorcycle by Ducati, Panigale V4 R comes with an optional Akrapovič full system exhaust kit. Along with the Akrapovič race kit, the Italian beauty also gets revised electronics package with a set of aerodynamic winglets which help in vehicle stability and wheelie control. For the race enthusiasts out here in the Philippines, Ducati offers a sole variant of the Panigale Series, the Panigale R.
MV Augusta Superveloce 800 Concept
MV Agusta Superveloce 800 concept was designed to meet both classic and supersport ambitions. Although the Superveloce 800 Concept is based on MV Agusta’s middleweight supersport F3 800. It looks extremely beautiful due to its classic vintage body lines fused with modern day design which includes a single round LED along with the lightweight carbon fibre fairings.
The ECU on the Superveloce 800 has been completely remapped to extract more power and performance from the 800cc triple-cylinder engine perfected with a bespoke 3-1-3 exhaust setup.
MV Augusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro
The centre of attraction at the EICMA 2018 was the MV Augusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro. The Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is is a limited edition motorcycle which will have only 300 production models to be sold all across the world. Brutale 1000 Serie Oro looks astonishing due to the presence of aerodynamic ‘winglets’ that double up as the radiator cover, also present are lots of carbon fibre bits, and a new digital TFT dash.
Apart from the looks, the 998cc four-pot mill offers great performance with up to 212 PS thanks to the addition of an optional next-generation race kit that includes an SC Project 4-1-4 full system exhaust kit made up of titanium. MV Augusta Brutale 675, 800, and 1090 are already available in the Philippines.
