MDPPA launches ‘Tropang Maalam’ road safety campaign

According to MDPPA Marketing Manager and Yamaha Motor Philippines Marketing Head Toni Boi Acuesta, the Tropang Maalam is an all-digital information campaign. Still, it will be expanded nationwide in the form of real educational activities in the near future.
Additionally, MDPPA Road Safety Committee Chairman Michael John Lopez (Kawasaki Motors Philippines) detailed one of the prevailing reasons why the organization is continuously pushing for safety awareness among riders.
Specifically, Lopez presented road crash statistical data gathered by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. Accidents tallied from 2022-2023 (post-pandemic) have alarmingly ballooned to 85,954 incidents. That said number is equivalent to a 19.56 increase in the stated period.
Apart from the launch of the Tropang Maalam campaign, Lopez likewise reported on the group’s recent road safety activities. Collectively, all brand members of the MDPPA have successfully conducted 1,908 road safety seminars and trainings from March 2023-August 2024.
In the same period, it also conducted 2,439 seminars for students in Grade 10, senior high school, college students, and local government units.
To mark the occasion, the MDPPA also organized a short morning group ride to Wyndell’s Cafe in Tanay, Rizal. As shared by the organization, the ride served to exhibit the principles of the Tropang Maalam campaign as it was carried out with road safety in mind.
