Meet the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black
MANILA: Joining the Triumph’s best selling bike, the Bonneville Bobber Black has been finally revealed. The all-new version of the bike is darker, stronger, and meaner. In addition, there are a number of upgrades along with the aggressive styling. It reflects the heritage characteristics through its floating aluminum seat, a hardtail-style swing cage and drum brake inspired rear hub. The Black edition highlights all the traits of the bike in an aggressive yet premium manner.
Powering the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black is a 1197cc, liquid-cooled, 6-speed engine that is tuned for 10% more torque. With this, it is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 77.5 PS at 6100 rpm and peak torque of 106 Nm at 4000 rpm. Even the base model is equipped with Road and Rain riding modes, switchable traction control, LED lights, and ABS.
The other updates of the Bonneville Bobber Black include a 47 mm Showa forks, instead of the original 41 mm set. At the front, a 19-inch front wheel is coupled with a single disc in the base variant. Whereas, the black is equipped with a 16-inch wheel with 310 mm front discs and two-piston sliding axial calipers care of Brembo. The new bike carries the 17-inch rear wheel, 255 mm rear brake disc with a Nissan single-piston caliper, KYR rear mono shock, and classic wire-spoke wheels.
The DRL-enabled headlamp comes as an option for the base Bobber, and standard for the Black version. The Black edition also gets single-button cruise control which is missing in the standard version. In terms of dimensions, the Bobber Black has a low 688 mm seat height while it weighs 137.5 kg. The bike is expected to hit the market in early 2018 with two options: Jet Black or Matt Jet.
