MANILA: The M Sport tuning for the BMW cars have a special place in the hearts of people who want a combination of sportiness with grandeur. However, this would not be the case anymore as the M Performance Parts are now added to the motorcycles too.

Yes, the BMW Motorrad has started adding the ‘M’ for the bikes too beginning with the S1000 RR sports beast. The new M Package for the two-wheeler includes - M lightweight battery, M carbon fibre wheels, M sport seat, M Chassis Kit with rear height adjustable swingarm, Pro Mode, and Motorsport paint finish.

And just the way the M Sport has become an integral part of the performance theme and is globally recognised for the cars, the company is hopeful that the same reputation prevails for the two-wheeler Motorrad as well.

Apart from this, its cooperation with the BMW Group Motorsport is also on the verge of being intensified so that it may help to tap into the line of additional synergies between motorcycle and automobile racing, especially keeping in mind the logistics and trade.

Cometh the 2019 FIM World Superbike (WorldSBK) Championship season and a new team for BMW Motorrad WorldSBK will be entering, albeit in collaboration with the Shaun Muir Racing. The riding suit will be donned by the winner of the 2013 Superbike World Championship, Tom Sykes and the current champion of the Superstock 1000 European, Markus Reiterberger, who is also the three-time champion at the IDM.

In the Philippines, the BMW S1000 RR is powered by a 999 cc four-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 199 hp, which comes at a whopping 13,500 RPM, along with a peak torque of 113 Nm, coming at 10,500 RPM. It has a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox and rides on 120 mm front and 190 mm rear tyres, both having 17-inch wheels. BMW Motorrad Race ABS is also given as part integral.
