Petron, Mad Dog Motorcycle Club stage 2021 Highway Run
MANILA: Petron Corporation was among the organizers of the 2021 Highway Run, which took place last October 2, to celebrate the 14 years of allowing big bikes with engine displacements of at least 400cc on expressways.
The event was initiated by the Mad Dog Motorcycle Club, which led the advocacy to allow large displacement motorcycles to use Philippine toll roads. The Toll Regulatory Board, together with the Department of Transportation and Communication, granted the petition back on September 28, 2007.
Motorcycle clubs assembled at two locations: Petron San Pedro, Laguna along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Petron Pura, Tarlac along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX). Over 500 riders gathered at the designated Petron SLEX station, while around 100 riders arrived at the TPLEX venue. Limited-edition Highway Run stickers were given to all participants.
Through a special promotion, eligible riders were able to avail three liters of Petron Sprint 4T Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil. Understanding that motorcycle engines run at higher speeds, produce more power, and require less oil, the Petron Sprint 4T Engine Oils have been specially formulated to “calm” motorcycle engines.
The Petron Sprint 4T Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil (SAE 10W-40) delivers excellent protection against wear and corrosion, superior engine cleanliness for engine performance, great shear stability to prevent oil thinning and breakdown, and exceptional friction characteristics for clutch performance. It is a first-class engine oil specially formulated for modern, high-performance motorcycles under intense driving situations.
In a statement, Mad Dog President Dustin Andaya said, “Petron is the perfect meeting place to celebrate the annual Highway Run. Comfortable restaurants, stores, and facilities make it a favorite take off point and stop over for many motorcyclists. On top of that, their gasoline and motor oil products are a popular choice for many motorists looking for higher performance from their engines.”
The event was also graced by television host Kim Atienza, who is known to be an avid bike enthusiast.
The 2021 Highway Run was also made possible by BMW Motorrad and SMC Infrastructure.
