PH-spec Suzuki Burgman Street clocks in nearly 95kpl in latest econo run

MANILA: The Philippine-retailed Suzuki Burgman Street recently was able to reach a new record of 94.6 kilometers per liter (kpl).

Such a result was achieved at the Econo Run 2024-Luzon leg. Participants in the activity covered around 100 kilometers of road from Suzuki Antipolo Motorcycle City 3S Shop to Batis Aramin Resort and Hotel in Lucban, Quezon.

The new record, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) shared, breached the scooter’s previous record of 93.70 kpl attained in the program’s Visayas leg in April 2023.

Also, the Suzuki Burgman Street EX — the automatic motorcycle’s top-spec trim — also had a fuel efficiency rating of 76.52 kpl.

Among the parameters set for the participants was to follow a single route on a convoy while maintaining speeds of 40-60 kilometers per hour (except during congested traffic conditions). Riders are also not allowed to turn off their engines.

According to SPH, the numbers were achieved thanks to the motorcycle’s highly-efficient mills that match the riders’ driving techniques.

The Burgman Street Standard and EX variants are two of Suzuki’s scooters in the local market. They are priced at P83,400 and P92,400 respectively.
