Shell rolls out the red carpet for moto riders
MANILA: Shell recently instituted so-called "biker fuel lanes," designed to specifically meet various needs of motorcycle riders through personalized services.
Motorcycles are the only allowed vehicles to pass by these biker fuel lanes with a “red carpet” — red-painted lanes showing where moto riders are prioritized.
Shell service staff in these designated lanes will provide VIP or special treatment to bikers — offering them a combination of premium Shell products and free services to maintain the good condition of their vehicles. Included in free services are motorcycle helmet and seat cleaning. Labor for oil change should be for free as well.
The biker fuel lane, regarded as the first of its kind, is also a one-stop hub that provides consultation with motorcycle-trained Shell station workers on bike maintenance and oil checks.
Thus, bikers do not have to wait for the large fuel tanks of vehicles ahead of them in line to fill up thanks to the fast transactions and services in these hubs.
Such bike lanes were established with the premiere moto products of Shell in mind: Shell Advance Motorcycle Oils and Shell V-Power.
Shell V-Power provides efficiency and performance with Dynaflex technology for bikers to experience a more seamless ride, more efficient engine performance, and enhanced acceleration on the road.
Shell V-Power works with Shell Advance motorcycle oils to give full engine protection so that bikers can stay on the road for a long time regardless of extreme riding conditions in the country.
Shell V-Power Brand Manager Jerome David said, “We hope to serve the bikers in our communities to make their experience as positive as possible in our stations. We understand that they are exposed to the elements, such as the hot, humid weather as well as the engine heat of the other cars.”
Shell Retail Vice President Randy del Valle explained, “According to the Land Transportation Office, there are 18.8 million registered motorcycles in the country as of the first quarter of 2019, and they make up 71% of motor vehicles overall. Our bikers have always braved traffic and the changing elements of the weather to bring us the goods and services we need.”
He added, “Now, since the start of the pandemic, they have also been performing critical services such as the delivery of vital products like food, medicine, and groceries, to the countless others who are on city-wide quarantine. This is why Shell would like to give them dedicated attention every time they come to our biker fuel lanes.”
The bikers can also avail of exclusive items that are especially designed for them like Shell V-Power-branded motorcycle shoe covers, arm sleeves, leg bag, and gloves.
Through the Shell Frequency card, these customers can take advantage of motorcycle accessories, which are proven useful during their rides. All transactions are done efficiently in this area for bikers to be able to resume with their trips afterward.
