MANILA: Indian Motorcycle gives green signal to the FTR 1200 production at the Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz, France. The all-new FTR 1200 street tracker draws its inspiration from the Indian’s flat-tracking heritage FTR750 race bike and is expected to be available to buyers by 2019.
The globally renowned American motorcycle manufacturer also offers riders an opportunity to win one of the first new FTR 1200 street trackers off the production line. All one needs to do to win the first FTR 1200 is to visit & log into www.indianmotorcycle.com and sign up. Just enter your name, email address, and your country online.
The bike is believed to be based on the FTR 1200 Custom that was a concept bike revealed at EICMA in 2017. The FTR750 is known to have dominated all the series of American Flat Track professional races since its very introduction. Indian motorcycle company announced its production as riders across the globe expressed their wish to own a street version of FTR750.
Indian Motorcycle happens to be USA’s first and most highly regarded motorcycle company. This is an iconic American motorcycle brand that has never failed to uphold its legacy since its foundation in 1901.
Rich Christoph, the Senior Designer at Indian Motorcycle, was also present at the announcement event. He has contributed significantly to the design of the motorcycle as well as its two predecessors, FTR750 and FTR1200 Custom. He made it clear that the new motorcycle will have its own distinct look, style, and feature.
The FTR 1200 street version will be inspired by both its predecessors, the FTR 1200 Custom and the race bike FTR750, as far as performance and design are concerned. No announcement has been made on the specifications of the motorcycle regarding engine output detail.
The official launch date is unclear now, but it is being speculated that the production version might be put on display at either the EICMA in Milan or at the Intermot Motorcycle Show in Frankfurt in the latter half of the present year.
