Supra GTR 150 – Honda’s most powerful underbone bike sells at 102K
MANILA: Honda Philippines, the top manufacturer of motorcycles in the country, has launched another bike. But instead of scooters like Honda ADV-100 and Honda Genio announced two months ago, this time we get a proper motorbike – the Supra GTR 150.
Honda Supra GTR 150 was unveiled at Robinsons Novaliches. The new model was shown off by Honda Asia-Dream SHOWA Team Manager and Talent Cup Racer Troy Alberto, as well as MotoGP and Superbike World Championship Racer Makoto Tamada.
“The all-new Honda Supra GTR 150 will give customers a more aggressive look in tougher style at the right price,” said Honda Philippines President Susumu Mituishi.
The latest addition to Honda’s line is a sports-type underbone motorcycle. Dubbed as the Speed Aggressor, it will replace RS 150R as the new flagship – although the latter will continue to be offered locally in the Philippines. In other Southeast Asian countries, Supra GTR 150 was introduced as the next-generation RS 150R.
“Designed to ensure that it fits with the Filipino lifestyle, this new model delivers speed, comfort, and Honda’s top notch technology and design, making every ride a thrilling experience,” Mituishi added.
Supra GTR 150 is built using a twin tube steel frame which allows for a more accessible height at 780 mm and a net weight of 119 kg. It’s been fitted with a 150-cc four-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine.
The new liquid-cooled engine produces about 16 hp and 14.2 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is capable of reaching up to 110 kmph. Given these specs, the Supra GTR 150 is the most powerful underbone motorcycle from Honda to-date.
Other highlights include LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, and a sporty-looking exhaust pipe. Unlike the Honda RS 150R which is now a step below, Supra GTR 150 will feature full telescopic forks measuring 31 mm in diameter.
The motorcycle also provides better fuel efficiency at 42 kmpl. Coupled with a 4.5-liter fuel tank, you can drive it for up to 189 km before it needs refueling.
Honda Supra GTR 150 will be available in local dealerships this December, but you can make early reservations for a unit. It will sell for Php 102,900 with two color options –Valiant Red and Black.
Once it arrives, Honda Supra GTR 150 will rival the Yamaha Sniper which also sells for the same price.
