Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 arrives in PH

MANILA: Suzuki has expanded the Gixxer line for the Philippine market with the local introduction of SF 155.

Dubbed the “Urban Predator”, the entry-level sports motorcycle is now part of the Japanese marque’s successful badge that was able to retail more than 26,000 units since it entered the country in 2015.

In a statement, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) said that the new variant is designed for those "who crave speed and control."

Here’s what buyers can enjoy in the Suzuki Gixxer SF 155.

Dimensions

The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 measures 2,025 millimeters (mm) long; 715 mm wide; and 1,035 mm tall with a 1,340-mm wheelbase and 165-mm ground clearance.

Aside from that, the motorcycle weighs around six kilograms heavier than the Suzuki Gixxer 155.

Aesthetics

Exuding an athletic design, the newly-revealed motorcycle features a low-center-of-gravity orientation complemented by a sleek, crouched silhouette with trapezoidal proportions that embraces European trends.

The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 carries the following that provides a look similar to the Hayabusa:

• Beak-like front fascia
• Rear tire hugger
• Split seats
• Twin muffler set-up

Allowing the rider to control the motorcycle are the clip-on handlebars. Also, the aforementioned model rides on 17-inch tubeless radial tires (100 mm wide for the front and 140 mm wide for the rear).

Performance

Propelling the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is the fuel efficient 155 cubic centimeter (cc) four-stroke, single cylinder, single overhead cam, two-valve Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine, which is also found in its street sport counterpart.

Based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards, the new offering can do 50 kilometers per liter.

The same mill, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, can also dish out 14 horsepower and 14 Newton-meters of torque.

Meanwhile, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155’s stopping power comes from the 300-mm front and rear disc brakes. Its telescopic front fork and swing arm with seven-step suspensions for the rear assures enhanced comfort, and handling.

Technology

The entry-level offering is also equipped with some of the technologies found on its naked twin such as the full digital gauge cluster and an all-LED illumination system (head- and tail lamps).

Pricing, color options

Available in Pearl Glacier White with Metallic Triton Blue as well as Glass Sparkle Black color options, the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 155 is priced at P114,900.
