Suzuki motorcycle clubs organise Balik-eskwela charity rides
MANILA: Team Suzuki riders were charged with charity rides, which were organised to help thousands of poverty-stricken and underprivileged students in various parts of Central and Southern Luzon. Suzuki takes pride in the initiative taken by the riders to drive these kinds of ventures without any support. Such charity rides are organised during back-to-school or Christmas seasons by the Suzuki Rider clubs.
A total of 190 riders participated in this activity in 7 distinct charity rides to far-flung towns in the territories of Laguna, Quezon, Mindoro, Bataan and Zambales helping over 1,100 native and impoverished students. With the help of Suzuki Helps, Aids and Rebuilds (SHARE) program, Suzuki Philippines supplied drawstring bags, notebooks, and pencils for the forthcoming school year. As part of their fellowship activity with the kids, teachers, and parents, the riding clubs also donated added school supplies, books, uniforms, snacks, and fun games.
The first ride was organised by Sta. Lucia Raider R150 Club at the Munting Kawayan Elementary School in Majayjay, Laguna. Two hundred fifty students were supported with a simple donation of academic and medical supplies, which left a wide smile on their face. The second ride was conducted by Raider R150 Reborn Philippines at ACSUM Elementary School in Sitio Balatero, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. The team distributed school supplies to 180 students and even provided electric fans. The third ride was performed by Raiders of Rizal at Magsaysay Elementary School in Infanta, Quezon. The team of 17 riders distributed school supplies and snacks to 200 students. Moving on to the fourth ride, it was conducted by R150 North Central Riders at the Biaan Aeta Integrated School in Mariveles, Bataan. The children were aided with school uniforms by 15 riders. Suzuki Owners Club at Alamo Elementary School in Botolan, Zambales completed the fifth ride, serving over 90 students with school supplies.
The remaining two trips were conducted by Philippine Suzuki Riders Club Laguna at Doongan Ilaya Elementary School in Catanauan, Quezon and Suzuki TROOP at Kinabuhayan Elementary School in Dolores, Quezon respectively.
