MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated has renewed its commitment to the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

According to Suzuki, winners of the half-court shootout competitions will get to take home an Avenis scooter.For the 2024 season of the local basketball organization, Suzuki Philippines returned as the official motorcycle partner of the league.
“This partnership between a powerhouse brand and the MPBL also known as ‘Liga ng Bawat Pilipino,’ strengthens the latter’s mission of discovering and developing exceptional basketball players across the country. With that, Suzuki Scooters take center stage as the flag bearers of the brand, perfectly complementing the fast-paced action on the court,” the local wing of the Japanese mobility brand said in a press release.
Team Suzuki joined MPBL for the second time as it tipped off the 2024 season at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
In attendance were MPBL Founder Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao; Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes; Board Member Joseph Ramos; Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III; Calasiao, Pangasinan Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay; and La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos.
Joining the dignitaries were Suzuki Philippines Marketing Communications Group Head Edelyn Yanilla, Product Marketing and Data Group Head Victoria Caringal, and Field Marketing Group Head Johnny De Guzman.
Suzuki Philippines Incorporated plans to bring more fun to the live games with half-court shootout competitions. Winners will take home a Suzuki Avenis.
Product displays — with exclusive event deals — from the motorcycle brand are also expected to be present during basketball games.
This year’s MPBL season will see three new teams: the Abra Weavers, Pangasinan Heatwaves, and Tarlac United Force. They, alongside the existing teams, will duke it out to dethrone the reigning champions that is the Pampanga Giant Lanterns.
