Suzuki Smash 115: Should you buy?
Suzuki Philippines has got five offerings in the underbone segment. Out of the five, one is the Smash 115, which is the most affordable underbone model available right now. The Suzuki Smash 115 price starts at just Php 58,400 and it comes in two variants - drum and disc. So what does this underbone motorcycle is all about and whether you should buy one or not? We’re going to figure that out in this story by going through some of the Smash’s key features.
Looks
Let’s start with the looks. The Smash 115 is a simple-looking underbone. However, Suzuki says that it has implemented some design features that are inspired by the GSX-R. At the front, we have a conventional headlight setup with turn signals located below on the front fairing. There is a body-coloured front fender. The overall design of the Smash 115 is quite aerodynamic which enhances both the performance and fuel efficiency. From the side, we find the Smash 115 to be decently attractive thanks to the funky graphics and the stainless steel muffler. The rear end gets a normal tail light cluster with integrated turn signals.
Engine
Powering the Suzuki Smash 115 is a 112.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which has been tuned to churn out a maximum power of 8.58 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 9 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed auto transmission. The engine is powerful enough to handle most of the tasks you would throw at it. It is also tuned to produce an optimal combination of performance and fuel economy.
Ride and handling
The Smash is very lightweight weighing in at just 99 kg, which makes it a breeze to ride, especially in and around the city streets with dense traffic. You can easily cut through the traffic by manoeuvring this underbone motorcycle without a fuss. Also, the overall dimensions of the Smash 115 are quite compact. It measures 1,930 mm in length, 655 mm in width, and 1,040 mm in height. The wheelbase is of 1,240 mm. Another feature of the Smash 115 that helps in its handling is its diamond-type chassis. With key specifications of 26 caster angle and 64 mm trail, the Smash delivers a user-friendly combination of smooth handling and comfortable straight-line running in various riding conditions.
Suzuki Smash 115 specs read a pair of telescopic coil spring oil damped suspension setup at the front and swingarm type coil spring oil damped suspension setup at the rear. This provides a comfortable ride quality and can bear a lot of loads.

The seat on the Smash is a single-piece unit that offers good comfort. Under it is an 8-litre storage space that would hold a few of your belongings. It also has a sports watch inspired instrument cluster which has a set of lights dedicated to showing the gear position.
There you have it. These were some of the key highlights of the Suzuki Smash 115. It is available in seven colors - Black, Red, Blue, Purple, Gray, Pink, and Matt Black - if you opt for the drum brake variant whereas the disc brake variant that costs Php 61,400 comes in blue only. The Smash has been tagged as the number one Underbone Motorcycle of 2017 in the leisure category of Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association Inc. (MDPPA).
