Things we like about Yamaha Mio Aerox 155

Both Aerox standard and the S variant are equipped with Liquid-cooled, 4-valve single-cylinder engine that fires up to 14.7 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm torque at 6,250 rpm.

Each unit is also employed with VVA or variable valve actuation which can adjust the fuel intake of the engine at a certain rpm. It also allows stronger torque at low speeds and power at high speeds. This also offers more flexibility to the engine’s valve train so you can truly “Lead with “ Speed” just like what the tagline of Yamaha Mio Aerox series says.

Technology and other features

What we admire the most about Yamaha Mio Aerox specs sheet is it’s 5.8-inch LCD digital meter panel that essentially provides you with an enhanced display screen. This gives the Mio Aerox 155 a higher advantage in terms of innovative technology. This digital display also has an indicator when the VVA is active. Not just that, there is also an electric socket that also has ample space for you to charge your phone or iPod while riding. Who would have thought riding a scooter can this be convenient?

You can also take advantage of the 25-liter compartment of this scooter. This big storage capacity is so impressive as it can fit more items even a full-face helmet or rain gear.

We also like the fact that the Hydraulic Single Disc front brake of the Mio Aerox S is also equipped with ABS or Antilock Braking System which makes it safer to drive. The ABS prevents the wheels from locking up during braking which also maintains tractive contact with the road surface. This technology is usually available in cars and aircraft.

The Stop and Start System in the S variant is something that also caught our attention. When this is enabled, the engine will automatically switch off after five seconds of being idle. This can help you save up by avoiding unnecessary fuel consumption. You also don’t have to worry about your battery as it is very well-protected. The quick start function allows you to return to your riding with ease because of the store air-fuel mixture in your engine. This is very ideal for conquering EDSA as it saves you fuel in traffic. After all, you can quickly restart your engine by simply twisting the throttle.

Present in the premium variant of Mio Aerox 155 is the Smart Key System that allows you to unlock your motorcycle with a keyless ignition system in just a press of a button. Can’t find your Mio in a sea of parked motorcycles? Push the button on the Smart Key and your Aerox will beep and light up (Simply amazing!).

Furthermore, Aerox is also known for being fuel-efficient, thanks to the Blue Core Technology that Yamaha has given to this variant. This technology equips Yamaha’s motorcycles with more power and faster pick-up while delivering better fuel efficiency and it is very environment-friendly because of lower emissions.
