Yamaha Sniper 155
Yamaha just launched the latest iteration of the Sniper 155 in May.
The underbone packs an updated 155 cubic centimeter (cc), liquid-cooled, four-valve, fuel-injected engine with model-specific settings. It is paired with a constant mesh six-speed transmission system with wet multiple disc clutch technology.
It produces some 17.6 horsepower (hp) with 14.4 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Other notable features of the new Yamaha Sniper 155 includes a variable valve actuation as well as an assist and slipper clutch — which can also be found on other models like the YZF-R1 and YZF-R15M.
Also worth mentioning are its disc brakes (front and back), telescopic front fork and swing arm suspension system, inverted digital meter panel, LED lighting setup, and ample 5.4-liter fuel tank.
Those eyeing the sportier Yamaha Sniper 155R can expect additional appointments in the form of an anti-lock brake system (ABS), a 12-volt direct current power socket, a smart key system, and a two-pot brake caliper.
Pricing for the Yamaha Sniper 155 starts at P125,900.
Yamaha Mio Aerox
The Yamaha Mio Aerox, on the other hand, uses a 155 cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, fuel-injected mill mated to a continuously variable transmission.
Per YMPH, the powerplant fitted in the Yamaha Mio Aerox makes use of a new cylinder head and a compact combustion chamber to achieve a higher compression ratio.
As a result, the automatic scooter dishes out approximately 15.1 hp with 13.9 Nm of pulling power.
Braking and deceleration is handled by a hydraulic disc brake at the front and a leading drum brake at the rear. It has a digital meter panel and is capable of allowing owners to take advantage of the Y-Connect technology.
Its note worthy features include ABS (for Yamaha Mio Aerox S), an LED headlight and taillight combo, as well as a 5.5-liter fuel tank.
The Yamaha Mio Aerox has a base price of P123,000.
