MANILA: PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) has recently launched the new Nmax Turbo.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the variants the Indonesian-spec Yamaha Nmax Turbo have?
The Indonesian-retailed Yamaha Nmax Turbo's trims are Turbo Tech Max Ultimate, Turbo Tech Max, Turbo, Neo S Version, and Neo.What are the Yamaha Nmax Turbo's prices in Indonesia?
The pricing of the Yamaha Nmax Turbo in Indonesia ranges from around P116,996-P161,898.Offered with an updated design, features, and performance, the badge’s newest rendition is expected to set a new standard in the 150-cubic centimeter (cc) maxi-scooter segment.
Dimension
The Yamaha Nmax Turbo is 1,935 millimeters (mm) long; 740 mm wide; and 1,200 mm tall with a 770 mm seat height, 135 mm ground clearance, and 1,340 mm wheelbase.
The said numbers make the motorcycle slighter taller than currently-marketed Nmax in the Philippines.
Design updates
Up front, the new Yamaha Nmax Turbo comes with a bolder appearance, complemented by the full LED lighting system with dual projectors. More aesthetic upgrades are seen at the rear — primarily on the tail lamp appearance.
The scooter also features a redesigned cockpit that is equipped with a new handlebar design and an updated thin-film-transistor digital display.
Performance upgrades
Powering the new Yamaha NMax Turbo is the tweaked version of the existing Blue Core 155cc engine with variable valve actuator that can dish out 15 horsepower (hp) and 14.2 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. For comparison, the Philippine-spec Yamaha Nmax also has the same hp delivery but a slightly-lower output in terms of oomph (13.9 Nm).
Yamaha is attributing the additional pulling power to the presence of the latest Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (YECVT) technology. The said system replaces the conventional CVT, which gives riders of the new Yamaha NMax turbo two ride modes: town commuting and sport touring.
In addition, the new Yamaha Nmax Turbo has the T-Shift feature that provides three drive levels (low, medium, and high). Managed via the operation button under the handlebar’s left portion, the technology gives a turbo sensation and can also be used to decelerate during downhills and entering corners.
Features
The new Yamaha Nmax comes with dual-channel anti-lock braking system, traction control, rear sub tank suspension and wide-tread 13-inch tubeless tires.
Its slew of convenience amenities includes the electric power outlet, a 25-liter underseat compartment, smart key system, and stop-and-start system.
