The new Yamaha Mio Gravis wears a P93,900-price tag.Dubbed the “Thrill Never Ends,” the new promotion for YMPH’s automatic motorcycle involved personality Mikee Reyes.
“Mikee’s character embodies what the new Yamaha Mio Gravis is all about as the motorcycle is enjoying the never-ending thrill of life,” YMPH Marketing Section Manager Toni Acuesta told Zigwheels Philippines in an interview.
“Aside from design — which made it sportier than ever, it’s the Mio Gravis’ handling that sets it apart compared to its competitors. It keeps you engaged and ready to stay in the game,” he added.
For his part, Reyes expressed gratitude to YMPH on being the nameplate’s latest local ambassador.
The automatic motorcycle wears an athletic and aggressive design — as expressed in the sharper lines that are seen on the front and side fairings.
Wearing almost same dimension as the previous iteration, the new Yamaha Mio Gravis is 1,915 millimeters (mm) long, 690 mm wide and 1,115 mm tall with a 1,275 mm wheelbase and 135 mm ground clearance — making it an ideal steed within the city.
Its front fascia now comes with almond-shaped blue inner lens for the position light that highlights the twin-eye LED headlamp, which in turn, gives the vehicle a bolder look. The wheels of the new Yamaha Mio Gravis are still 12-inch tubeless tires.
Providing relevant information to the rider while on the road is the rectangular digital instrument cluster that displays fuel economy, speed, and kilometer reading — among others.
Propelling the new Yamaha Mio Gravis is the reliable four-stroke, single overhead cam, two-valve, fuel-injected, air-cooled 125-cubic centimeter engine mated to a V-belt automatic transmission. The aforementioned mill, which features a smart motor generator can dish out as much as 9.4 horses and 9.5 Newton-meters of pulling power. It also boasts a stop-and-start system to boost fuel efficiency.
The front fuel lid gives easier access to the uniquely-placed 4.2-liter tank that gives the ride a low center of gravity to ensure handling stability.
The stopping power of YMPH’s latest offering comes from hydraulic disc brake at the front, and mechanical leading drum at the rear.
Other technological amenities that can be found in the new Yamaha Mio Gravis are the electric power socket to charge up mobile devices while riding the motorcycle and the Y-Connect.
Available in Glam Petrol, Matte Brown, and Matte Black, the new Yamaha Mio Gravis — which is packaged with a one-year or 12,000-kilometer warranty — is priced at P93,900.
