Sluggish and expensive
In spite of a not-insignificant increase in power and a larger engine, the HR-V still feels very lethargic and sluggish throughout its power band. From a standstill, it’s slow to get underway, and passing maneuvers require some planning and forethought. The CVT is not helpful and keeps both noise levels and engine revs high. It offers an average mileage which is not going to excite budget-conscious travelers. It also comes at a premium price but doesn’t offer the top-notch amenities offered by its competitors. The rear seat passengers won’t find the legroom to be good.
