Jeep Renegade

Just like the overall exterior styling, the interior cabin of the Jeep Renegade also looks quite quirky and out-of-the-box. The round-themed multi-functional steering wheel is the same as that on the other compact offerings from Jeep. The instrument console looks quite inviting, thanks to the large colored MID screen present in between the two analog dials.

The centre console is dominated by curves for the AC vents and buttons for climate control. The 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system is also placed within a rounded-rectangular housing. The contrasting garnish around the grab handles and speakers on the doors is a thoughtful innovation and makes the overall cabin appear vibrant. 

The Jeep Renegade is equipped with many features which label it as a premium subcompact SUV. The list of features includes leather upholstery, heated and powered front seats, dual zone climate control, steering wheel with audio, Bluetooth and cruise controls and push-button start.

The Jeep Renegade is easily the most distinctive looking SUV in its category owing to the retro-themed quirky but cutesy design language derived from Fiat’s family of new generation cars. However, this very offset design makes it draw polarized opinions on it.

The front fascia of the Jeep Renegade comes with a rounded theme with circular headlamps integrated with projector units and a seven-slat vertical grille in between them. The front bumper gets thick black cladding and integrates fog lamps along with turn indicators right above them.

The side profile of the Jeep Renegade appears boxy thanks to the squared theme for side windows, wheel arches, and rearview mirrors. The roof rails, black cladding and high ground clearance provide it with a traditional SUV flavour. The overall silhouette makes the Renegade stand out from the crowd of curvaceous crossovers in the category. At the rear, the boxy styling of the Renegade is still quite evident by the squared LED tail lamps and rear windshield.

The Jeep Renegade is targeted at a volume-oriented segment but that doesn’t mean that Jeep has compromised with its legendary off-road driving capabilities on this subcompact SUV. The Renegade is fitted with Jeep’s proven Selec-terrain management system which allows the driver to choose from multiple driving modes like snow, sand, mud, rock and auto depending on the type of terrain ahead.

For the Philippines market, the Jeep Renegade is armed with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The powerhouse, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox produces 180 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 250 Nm.

The Jeep Renegade has some really nice safety features up its sleeves. The SUV is equipped with front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, lane departure warning, all-speed traction control, vehicle stability management, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake, electronic roll mitigation, electronic stability control and full speed collision warning.

For those who are looking for a different and unique looking small SUV, the Jeep Renegade is the perfect option for them. The compact Renegade might not appeal to those who are used to traditional styling cues, but for those who are looking for something fresh and eye-catchy, the Renegade would be a terrific pick.
