With a 2,630mm wheelbase, the Kia Seltos is one of the most spacious compact SUVs with significant room for five people. For additional space and comfort, all the variants of the Kia Seltos feature 60:40 split rear seats with a recline function.  

What engine and transmission options are available?

There are two engine and transmission combinations across the Kia Seltos variant lineup in the Philippines. The base-spec LX AT and mid-spec EX AT variants are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Paired with a CVT, this engine claims 115 PS of maximum power and 144 Nm of maximum torque. Meanwhile, the 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offered in the top-spec SX AT variant is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and delivers 140 PS of maximum power and 242 Nm of maximum torque. 

What’s the mileage of the Kia Seltos?

While Kia Philippines hasn’t revealed the official fuel efficiency figures for the Seltos, these same powertrain combinations have claimed efficiency figures stated by Kia India for the Seltos. While the LX AT and EX AT variants with naturally-aspirated petrol engines deliver 16.8 kmpl, the SX AT with the turbo-petrol engine returns 16.5 kmpl efficiency figures. 

How safe is the Kia Seltos?

The standard safety features offered in all the variants of Kia Seltos in the Philippines are dual front airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, hill start assist, reverse camera, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. Should you buy the 2024 Kia Seltos?

The Kia Seltos was already one of the most stylish and practical compact SUVs, and with this new facelifted update, the Seltos has only become flashier and more appealing to the eyes. It looks and feels like a much more expensive SUV, especially on the inside, which does give it an edge over other compact SUVs, and hence justifies the premium pricing it commands.

Other things to consider

One of the most accomplished SUVs in the current times, the Kia Seltos is also a bit on the expensive side, thanks to the array of modern features. However, if you can compromise a bit with size and space on the inside, the smaller Kia Sonet is also a worthy option, which shares many of the features and the 1.5-litre petrol engine with the Seltos at a relatively lower price point.
