As you hop inside, the comfortable and refined looks greet you while the superior interior quality is complemented with the spacious cabin and improved dashboard. The 3 spoke steering wheel looks distinctive in its lineup while the improved quality of plastic material looks comfortable. The compact dimension seems problematic for tall passenger whereas the increased wheelbase and increased height solved this problem. The front seats are integrated with headrests while the front power windows come standard. Ample of storage compartments are provided to stow in your knick-knacks. The instrument cluster includes the one large dial for speedometer with tell-tale lights on the left and digital readout for fuel, odometers and trip meter. The hatchback offers a cargo space of 177 litres which can be expanded with the rear seats folded.

Although not so striking, but still the cute design of hatchback tried to bring styles form Japanese Alto and A-star. The compact dimension of Alto 800 is features with modern looks while the new and lighter roof has been added with corrugation to boost stability. The prominent crease running along the flanks rises towards the rear adding the athletic look. The rear windshield is slightly cut which may make rear passenger feel claustrophobic. The large multi element tail lights with the sharply crafted bumpers adds up the spice to humdrum styles. The high ground clearance underlines the conservative styles while the unique wavefront design and sloping window lines with swaying roof and jewel finish rear combination lamps and pleasant design on back door looks nice. The petal shaped headlamps along with stylish grille and bumper makes the impressive look of the car which suits over the dimensions of 3395 mm x 1490 mm x 1475 mm(L x W x H) with wheelbase of 2360 mm.

The Suzuki Alto 800 continues to be powered with the old 796 cc displacement engine which has gone through myriads of changes to offer better power and performance. The F8D engine has adopted many of changes which empower it to generate the power output of 47 hp at 6200 rpm with peak torque of 68 Nm at 3500 rpm. The jerkiness of engine is annoying but the overall performance is fine which result into the better manoeuvrability and mileage. The engine is equipped with 5 speed manual transmission which offers smooth gearshifts. In combined condition the engine puts the fuel consumption of 17 kmpl which is pretty appreciable. The engine makes the decent performance and allows the vehicle to catch the top speed of 130 kmph while crossing the speed of 100 kmph from naught within 17 seconds.

This compact car comes fitted with lots of functions that form a strong immunity against any kind of threat. The body of this hatchback is well-built with strong steel, which avoids transmission of force to occupants' bodies given by any collision or accident. However the riding and superb stability has never been the forte of Alto. The ventilated disc brakes give the improved braking performance while the passive safety is complemented with the collapsible steering column, side impact beams, and TECT design on body. Immobilizer saves the vehicle from being stolen.

Verdict

Although not much has been changed but still knick knack changes over the dashboard and quality of materials inside have made the interiors more captivating. The engine is well performing and proves to fulfil the expectation of consumer with decent mileage.
