Look-wise there’s nothing much exciting about the WM Motor W5. Many Chinese cars look strikingly similar to their American and Japanese counterparts. The WM Motor W5 is in the same league. The exterior design is rather conservative. But there’s not a single line that looks out of place. It seems the designers at WM Motor had a checklist of what buyers expect from a modern crossover. The driver also gets a huge 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Almost all functions are controlled by these two units. The display quality isn’t extraordinary but is clear and legible. Instead of the traditional gear shifter, the central console gets a rotary dial that also serves as the on-off switch. There are some haptic shortcut buttons. WM Motor is a small-volume manufacturer and some of the parts seem to be inspired by larger automakers. The physical switchgear, like the steering wheel buttons, window switches, and stalks are taken straight from Geely. The car also gets a dual-zone climate control unit and a panoramic sunroof. The car gets a proximity sensors that automatically unlocks the door as the driver approaches it. There’s no option to turn the feature off. The cabin gets an N95 cabin air filtration system. The WM Motor W5 runs on 18-inch wheels.
