The Kawasaki KSR Pro is one of the best off-road motorcycles with a lot of unique features. It was launched back in 2012 globally, and after a year, the two-wheeler was exported to the Philippines.
Back then, the bike was based on Kawasaki Edge 110, especially considering that both the motorcycles’ engine configuration is the same. The manufacturer designed the bike after designing KLX/KX range of dirt bikes and targeted it at the young riders who often like to have an everyday motorcycle having the features from slightly unconventional ones.
Kawasaki KSR Pro Design
The Kawasaki KSR Pro is built on a durable frame so that no questions will be asked on its longevity. The aggressively styled off-roader comes with big tyres and features unique styled alloy wheels. The headlamp looks classy and there is also LED taillamps given. The instrument console has an analog odometer and speedometer. The single seat design makes the off-roader stand out from the crowd and also make ridings in the bad roads comfortable.
KSR Pro Ride & Handling
The Kawasaki KSR Pro offers a comfortable riding experience for the beginners as well as the professional riders. The motorcycle offers kick as well as electric starting system, which makes the ignition convenient for the riders.
Offering a smooth ride quality, the motorcycle is one of the top choices among the entry-level off-roaders. Coming to the suspensions, it comes with an inverted front fork of 30 mm, which does not allow the bike to lose its shape by keeping the unsprung weight low to avail the sporty riding potential. Also, the rear suspension is good enough to make the ride comfortable.
The wheels are sturdy and wrapped in the excellent quality tyres that offer a great grip.
Kawasaki KSR Pro Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Kawasaki KSR Pro gets an air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine which offers a good performance while riding. The 111 cc motor is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 8.5 hp along with a peak torque of 8.6 Nm. Considering the other off-road vehicles in this segment, the power and torque are decent enough. The maximum power comes at a speed of 8,000 rpm, while the peak torque comes at 6,000 rpm.
The power is sent down to the wheel via a 4-speed manual transmission. It means that the experienced riders will have more control, while on the other hand, it also offers the feel of riding a manual transmission bike.
Despite having an entry-level engine, the Kawasaki KSR Pro provides an excellent performance in the city as well as on the bad roads.
KSR Pro Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki KSR Pro is one of the best options for the beginners who have just started to ride bikes away from the conventional city roads. Moreover, to ensure that all the riders will plant the foot firmly in the ground, the seat height is quite low.
Speaking of the brakes, a 200 mm petal disc stops the front wheel, while the rear wheel gets a 184 mm disc unit. Both of the brakes provide a quality performance while stopping the bike. The bike does not feature ABS. However, the commuter based maximum power and torque do not require ABS for ensuring the safety.
Hence, it is proven that the KSR Pro is one of the safest on- and off-road two-wheelers. When most of its competitors offer disc and drum brake combination, the motorcycle has disc brakes for both the wheels.
Kawasaki KSR Pro Verdict
The Kawasaki KSR pro is one of the top choices among the entry-level off-road motorcycles as it is equipped with quality features. The two-wheeler comes with disc brakes for both the wheels, while most of its competitors offer dual drum brakes or the disc-drum combination only. It also offers a comfortable ride through the bad roads due to the quality suspension setup. In addition, the bike comes with dual starting system, which allows the riders to opt between the kick-starting or electric starting system as and when required.
The Kawasaki KSR pro is doing well in the Philippines. One of its toughest competitors is the MotorStar MSX 125M.
