Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR Review 2025
Abhishek Katariya says
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR had its Philippines launch in March, 2023. The bike has since remained the same. The Ninja ZX-4RR is widely considered a game-changer in the small-displacement supersport bike category. The bike is designed for enthusiasts who crave performance without stepping into the intimidating world of heavier sports bikes. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR manages to strike a fine balance between power, handling, and features that cater to both new and experienced riders.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR Design
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR borrows styling cues from its bigger siblings like the ZX-6R and ZX-10R. The ZX-4RR sports a sharp front fairing with dual headlights. The bike gets all-around LED lighting. There’s a small but very useful aerodynamic windscreen. The bold Kawasaki graphics lend the bike an aggressive stance. The tail section, side fairings, and compact exhaust add to the sporty appeal.
The rider gets a full TFT display that adds to the bike’s premium appeal. The readout offers excellent visibility. In Philippines, the ZX-4RR is available only in Kawasaki’s signature Lime Green colour with race-inspired decals, adding to its track-ready aesthetic. The design screams superbike pedigree, making it one of the best-looking bikes in its class.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR comes with smartphone connectivity through the company’s Rideology app. It allows users to tether to the bike via Bluetooth and access route information, vehicle information, call notifications, and even changing of phone settings.
The bike runs on 17-inch wheels.
Ninja ZX-4RR Ride & Handling
The ergonomics of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR are sport-oriented but still suitable for daily rides. The seating position is slightly aggressive but not as extreme as a full-fledged supersport bike. The foot pegs are positioned for an engaging ride, while the clip-on handlebars provide good control without excessive strain on the wrists.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR comes with Showa SFF-BP front fork and a Showa BFRC-Lite rear shock absorber. Both units offer adjustability. The suspension is tuned towards the stiffer side since the bike is mostly meant for track rides, and it makes perfect sense for high-speed cornering. But it’s a bit harsh for urban potholes or rough roads.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is equipped with a liquid-cooled, four-cylinder, 400cc engine that produces 76 PS/40 Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The high-revving nature lends the bike an exhilarating top-end performance, setting it apart from competitors that rely on twin-cylinder setups.
Power delivery from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is linear. But the real excitement comes when the revs climb. The quick-shifter comes as part of standard equipment. It ensures seamless gear changes and enhances both performance and ride quality. While the two-wheeler lacks low-end torque, once it gets within the powerband, the ZX-4RR is an absolute thrill to ride.
Ninja ZX-4RR Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR gets dual 290mm front discs with radial-mounted callipers that ensure strong and progressive stopping power. The rear wheel comes with a 220mm disc brake that contributes to the stability under hard braking.
The two-wheeler is equipped with a dual-channel antilock braking system that enhancing safety in wet conditions and during an emergency. That aside, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR gets traction control. It helps to prevent wheel spin in aggressive riding conditions.
The bike also comes with Sport, Road, Rain, and a customizable Rider mode. These allow the rider to tailor the performance according to conditions.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR Verdict
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is a great two-wheeler that redefines what a 400cc sports-bike should be. It comes with a very potent, track-worthy powertrain, top-tier electronic aids, and aggressive styling. All these help the bike to stand out from the crowd. It’s a dream two-wheeler for enthusiasts who want a small-displacement bike that doesn’t compromise on performance.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR has a starting price of ₱499,000. The price is on the higher side compared to its rivals and may not be the best option for daily commuters. The ZX-4RR is mainly meant for smooth, twisty roads or a racetrack.
