Keeway KEE 125 Design
As compared to all the other cub class bikes from Keeway, the KEE 125 looks the most complete and comprehensive of the lot, and the reason behind this impression is the amount of bodywork it adorns. The KEE 125 easily is the most aggressive and modern looking cub class bike from Keeway, with sharp and big body panels forming the bodywork.
At the front, the KEE 125 gets a conventional scooter like handlebar with an angular headlamp sitting in the center. The front apron has got a slanting design, with curvy looking turn indicators on its either edges, with a small air dam right in the center. The side edges of the front apron are shaped in a zig-zag way and house the LED positioning lamps.
The aggressively designed front bodywork make way for better ergonomics for the rider as well, as the housing behind the front apron feels very accommodating. Even the side body panels are quite large, thus making the KEE 125 appear as a bike from one category above. The single piece seat is large and accommodating enough for two full sized adults. The exhaust pipe too comes with a more premium looking chrome heat shield. To make it look more premium, the KEE 125 gets a set of five-spoke alloy wheels and front petal disc brake.
The rear tail lamp cluster with clear lens turn indicators is something which we have already seen on the lower-spec CS 110. However, the single piece pillion grab rail with a split-like design is something which is unique and practical at the same time. The instrument console is a more evolved form of that of the RCS 125, with analog readouts for speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge.
KEE 125 Ride & Handling
The Keeway KEE 125 gets the same conventional suspension setup of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a pair of hydraulic coil springs at the rear, as seen on the RCX 125. However, they are tuned in a different manner to make it slightly stiffer in feel.
This overall suspension setup, along with the presence of 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends, give the KEE 125 a sporty character, which is quite evident in the way it handles. The KEE 125 is the only Keeway cub class bike to come with a rear tire fatter than the front one, which aids in its grip over bad roads. For making the braking sharper, the KEE 125 has been equipped with a petal disc brake at the front, while a conventional drum brake happens to be there at the rear.
Keeway KEE 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Sharing the powertrain with the RCS 125 and RCX 125, the KEE 125 too comes fitted with a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 124.8cc engine. The engine here also is mated to a four-speed gearbox, although with altered gear ratios, in order to make the performance more suited for spirited riding.
KEE 125 Braking & Safety
Apart from the presence of a front disc brake, there is hardly any other safety feature on the KEE 125 to make it richly equipped when it comes to the list of safety features. However, considering the price-sensitive segment in which it is positioned, it is quite understood.
Keeway KEE 125 Verdict
With its sharper and more bulky looking bodywork, the KEE 125 easily looks and feels the most premium cub class bike from Keeway. Matching its sporty visual appeal is the potent powertrain as well as excellent chassis components, which give the KEE 125 a sense of agility usually seen on a premium commuter motorcycle. However, we do wish that the KEE 125 could have been equipped with a couple of more convenience features in order to justify its premium appeal even more.
