Kymco KRV 180i TCS

Despite it being an entry-level maxi-scooter, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS has got the right size and proportions for being labelled as a proper maxi-scooter. The KRV 180i TCS gets snazzy-looking body panels all around, which make it a much sharper scooter to look at.

At the front, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS has got an aggressive-looking design, with an angular and pointy dual-LED headlamp set up in the lower part of the front apron. The sharply styled side and upper panels of the front apron coordinate in a dual-tone manner and give a wide look to the scooter. At the top of the front apron, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS gets a tilted and blacked-out visor, which comes with a couple of air slats in it.

The Kymco KRV 180i TCS is one of the most practical entry-level maxi-scooters in the country, for it has a flat floorboard that offers more usability than the one with a spine running in the middle. The side body panels of the Kymco KRV 180i TCS look sleek and also have a dual-tone appeal to them. While the radiator is neatly tucked between the single-sided exhaust pipe with w silver tip, the scooter also comes with five-spoke alloy wheels and split pillion grab rails.

The rear profile of the Kymco KRV 180i TCS has a sporty appeal to it with a high-rise tail section, which has a split theme for the LED tail lamp at the top of the tail section. The other elements of the rear profile of the scooter include a tiny tail section with LED turn indicators and a properly curved tyre hugger over the rear wheel.

The Kymco KRV 180i TCS has a very funky looking fully digital hexagonal instrument console, which displays readings of the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, odometer and trip meters. There is another trapezoidal housing in the middle of the handlebar, which houses the warning lights. The scooter has silver-finished handlebar ends and levers, and seat storage compartment of 25 litres and keyless ignition, all of which are offered as standard.

The Kymco KRV 180i TCS is well-sorted when it comes to mechanical setup under its flashy skin. The scooter comes armed with a suspension combination of telescopic forks at the front and a unit swingarm with mono-shock at the rear. The ride quality from this suspension setup feels plush and comfortable even at slower city speeds. Riding on 13-inch wheels at both the ends with a 110/70-13 tyre at the front and a 130/70-13 tyre at the rear, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS comes equipped with a braking setup of 270mm disc at the front and a 234mm disc at the rear.

Powering the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 175.1cc engine, which is coupled to a traditional belt-driven transmission. The engine of the Kymco KRV 180i TCS claims a maximum power output of 17.03 PS, while the peak torque output of the engine is rated at 15.68 Nm.

For an entry-level maxi-scooter, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is equipped with premium safety features like a dual-channel ABS, traction control and keyless ignition. It also comes with dual-slot USB charging ports.

The Kymco KRV 180i TCS might not feel as premium up close as it looks from a distance, with its fit and finish levels not being up to the mark as one would expect from it. However, the scooter feels perky to ride, has plush ride quality and looks smashing, which enhances its desirability.
