NWOW Turtle King

If you have a look at the entire product portfolio of Nwow, the Turtle King comes across as a better-built and most stylish-looking scooter. The Nwow Turtle King takes inspiration from the scooters of the bygone era, which is the essence behind its retro looks. The rounded and curvy body panels of the Nwow Turtle King make it look interesting.

At the front, the Nwow Turtle King greets you with its large rounded front apron, which is positioned slightly lower and gets a rounded LED headlamp integrated on top of it in a dedicated housing. The handlebar above the front apron has an open appearance, though its middle portion is smartly covered with a tiny tinted visor. The rounded turn indicators with chrome housings placed on the side portions of the front apron and a high-mounted curved front fender further complete the round-themed front look of the Nwow Turtle King.

After moving to the side profile, the retro theme of the scooter is carried out in an even better manner. The floorboard here is flat, unlike most retro-themed scooters which have a compact tunnel in the middle. The rounded side body panels look smart and proportionate and have a large single-piece tan-coloured seat above them. The seat is large and well-padded and is wide enough to make it a perch for two full-sized adults.

Behind the seat, the Nwow Turtle King gets a compact tubular grab rail, which has an extended luggage carrier at its back. The tail section of the scooter also looks simple and minimalist with a small tail lamp and separate rounded amber turn indicators. The scooter gets multi-spoke black alloy wheels, which also go well with the overall theme of the scooter.

The rider’s cockpit of the Nwow Turtle King looks fairly simple, just like the rest of the design of the scooter. This cockpit has a simple instrument console, which includes a speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge, apart from the basic warning lamps. While the overall styling of the Nwow Turtle King is surely eye-catching, the build quality and fit, and finish levels could have been better.

While the overall performance of the Nwow Turtle King might not be too impressive, the easy handling and light kerb weight of the scooter deserve appreciation. The scooter gets a simple mechanical setup of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided hydraulic coil spring at the back, which makes the scooter an agile thing to ride. Though, the overall ride quality is not as plush as one would have expected. The braking duties are performed by a single disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

The Nwow Turtle King is an electric scooter, which gets one of the best motor and battery setups in the entire portfolio of Nwow. The power for this electric scooter comes from a 0.8 kW electric motor, which makes the Turtle King achieve a decently high top speed of 47 kmph. The scooter also has a 20 Ah lead-acid battery, which is removable and helps the scooter achieve a maximum riding range of 50-70 km in ideal riding conditions.

To keep its costs low and approachable, the Nwow Turtle King misses out on essential safety features, and it doesn’t even get ABS, which has become a very common safety feature across two-wheelers.

While the overall performance, build quality, and ride quality of the Nwow Turtle King leaves a lot to be desired, the scooter impresses with its chic retro styling and agile handling.
