Skygo Hero Review 2024
The smallest and most affordable offering from Skygo, the Hero has been liked by many for its short heightened appeal, pocket-friendly performance, and agility. The moped has been offering the functionality of a motorcycle with the convenience of a scooter. The Skygo Hero is being offered in the Philippines in two color options – Black with red and Red with Black.

Skygo Hero Design
The Skygo Hero looks cutesy from some angles, which gels well with its diminutive size. The Hero is one of the swankiest looking mopeds, owing to its loud graphics and over-sized bodywork at some places.
At the front, the Skygo Hero comes with a diamond-shaped headlamp assembly, which is surrounded by a very large looking fairing. This overall fascia tries to give the Hero a serious and aggressive stance, despite its short size. The high mounted front fender is another attempt by Skygo to make the Hero look its part.
The side profile of the Skygo looks quite trendy and flashy, thanks to the presence of loud body graphics on the sloping body panel in the interior front. The single piece seat is well contoured and seats two full-sized adults with ease. The zig-zag shaped rear side body panels too get busy body graphics to make it look stand out from the crowd. The engine is positioned under the center frame, thus lowering the center of gravity. The exhaust pipe, however, looks quite boring and doesn’t go well with the overall design.
At the rear, the Skygo Hero is adorned with a petite tail lamp assembly along with a short single piece pillion grab rail. The rider’s cockpit too is thoughtfully designed with a single piece handlebar, which gets angular handle crash guards at both sides. The minimalist looking instrument console comes integrated with just a speedometer and odometer, which makes it one of the least informative units out there. The presence of an electric starter gives it a modern touch, but only by a very small margin. Given its low-cost engineering, build quality is questionable at some places.
Hero Ride & Handling
The Skygo Hero comes with an underbone frame and is fitted with the suspension setup of a motorcycle to match its athletic credentials. The pair of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a set of hydraulic coil springs at the rear are tuned on a softer side to make the ride quality plush for city usage. The large 17-inch wheels are spot on to make the handling as sweet as possible, given the short height of the moped, however, push it a bit hard, and it might lose out on the grip. For halting duties, Skygo has equipped the Hero with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Skygo Hero Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Skygo Hero looks quite athletic, and to match this very athletic persona of the moped, the powertrain employed is a decently powerful four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 125cc engine. The engine, coupled to a 4-speed automatic gearbox, has the ability to pump out a maximum power output of 9.0PS and a peak torque output of 8.5Nm. Thanks to the low kerb weight of the Skygo Hero, the moped has an appreciable power-to-weight ratio, which makes it fun to ride machine. However, at times, the gearshifts might seem a bit clunky.
Hero Braking & Safety
Save for the presence of a disc brake at the front, there is nothing much to talk about the safety quotient of the Skygo Hero. This is quite understandable, considering the fact that the Hero is an entry-level product. The handle crash guards, however, provide added safety at the time of a head-on crash.
Skygo Hero Verdict
The Skygo Hero looks cutesy with its bold graphics, skillfully designed panels and bits at some places, which give it an overall quirky appeal – in a good way, off course. While it might not be a go-to vehicle for long-heighted riders owing to its short size, it is quite fun to ride around, thanks to its low kerb weight, punchy performance and agile handling from the brilliantly tuned suspension.
