Skygo Prince 125 Review 2024
The Prince is Skygo’s take on the ultra cost-effective entry-level commuter segment, for those people who are extremely tight on their budget and want a motorcycle just for the single purpose for commuting from point A to point B. The motorcycle, with its bare-bones appeal and basic mechanicals, is looked after by the entry-level commuter audience. The Skygo Prince is being offered in the sole paint shade of red and at a price of just PHP 39,000.

Skygo Prince 125 Design
From the looks of it, one can easily judge the Skygo Prince to be a motorcycle from the last century, for the fact that the motorcycle looks highly dated and very old school. The overall styling is staid and nowhere near to the modern competition from its Japanese counterparts.
At the front, the Skygo Prince comes with a very straight forward looking rectangular headlamp which is flanked with big sized squared turn indicators. With the chrome finished front fender and rubber protectors for front forks, it reminds you of the motorcycles from the nineties which gives it a dated appeal.
The side profile of the Skygo Prince is dominated by a slim and long fuel tank which is slightly curvy from the inner edges. The side body cowls are block sized with no innovation in design, while the engine is finished in a very cost-effective grey theme. Even the exhaust pipe is finished in chrome as a measure of cost cutting. The motorcycle gets a long and thick sized seat which is accommodating enough for two full sized adults. The spoke wheels at both the ends give the motorcycle a utilitarian look.
At the rear, the Prince shares its squared tail light as well as tubular grab rail with its very own sibling, the Wizard 125. However, like at the front, the rear too comes with chrome finished fender. The instrument console is a large rectangular unit, which accommodates a speedometer, odometer, and regular tell-tale lights. The handlebar comes with a very functional crossbar, while the rear view mirrors are round in shape. Surprisingly, the motorcycle comes with an electric starter even at this price, which is quite commendable.
Prince 125 Ride & Handling
Given the bare bones appeal of the motorcycle, the Skygo Prince comes with a sober but sturdy set of mechanical hardware. Sitting on a tubular frame, the Prince gets a pair of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a pair of hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The suspension is solid and strong enough to carry good amount of load with ease, however, the skinny tyres do rob off a bit of handling, especially at higher speeds. The bike comes with a set of drum brakes at both the ends in order to bring the Prince to a halt with composure.
Skygo Prince 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the Skygo Prince is the same four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 124.12cc engine which is fitted to its very own sibling, the Wizard 125. Here too, the motorcycle is powerful enough to produce a maximum power output of 11.4PS and a peak torque output of 8.5Nm. With a 5-speed gearbox to channel the power produced to the rear wheel via a chain drive, the engine feels lively and adequately powerful. However, refinement levels need to be looked after.
Prince 125 Braking & Safety
Skygo has executed a number of cost-cutting measures, so it is pretty evident that the motorcycle has skipped on many sophisticated safety measures. However, Skygo could have equipped the motorcycle with at least a front disc brake to make the braking even safer.
Skygo Prince 125 Verdict
The Skygo Prince is not one motorcycle which one would dream of. Even by the commuter standards, it is highly dated in terms of visual appeal and overall styling in front of its Japanese counterparts. The build quality is questionable at some places, while the components don’t exude good fit and finish. However, when it comes to business, the Skygo Prince offers praiseworthy performance and ride quality and load carrying ability, which are basically the only purposes one majorly expects from a motorcycle of this class.
