Skygo Wizard 125 Review 2024
Remember the good old times when the commuter motorcycles used to be bare bones and purely functional? Skygo still offers one such motorcycle in the form of Wizard. This 125cc entry level commuter has got a no-frills appeal which has a kind of nostalgic feel to it. Available in one standard version, the Skygo Wizard is being offered in two dual tone color options of Black with Red and Blue with White.

Skygo Wizard 125 Design
The Skygo Wizard might remind you of the motorcycles of bygone eras from the last century – this might be a good or a bad thing in the first appeal. However, in our opinion, the overall design is severely dated to withstand the current competition, which offers much more modernity and features in the same price range.
At the front, the Skygo Wizard comes with a rectangular headlamp, which is surrounded by a large fairing. While this adds to the visual appeal of the motorcycle and makes it look large when viewed head on, the overall front fascia looks a bit odd and raw.
Moving towards the side profile, the Skygo Wizard comes with a very slim and minimalist looking fuel tank, which comes stickered with decent graphics. Apart from it, the motorcycle gets a flat and long seat and block styled side body panels, which altogether generate a very old school appeal. Adding to the raw feel of the motorcycle is the presence of spoke wheels and the absence of any heat shield or cover over the boring looking exhaust pipe.
At the rear too, the Wizard comes with a squared tail lamp, which is accompanied with large clear lens turn indicators. The tubular grab rail is large and functional for load carrying capabilities, however, this adds to the dated image of the motorcycle.
The overall dated feel of the Skygo Wizard continues towards the rider’s cockpit as well, with the high placed handlebar and a very simple looking all-analog instrument console. The rectangular meter console includes a speedometer, tachometer and a gear indicator. The round view mirrors on the motorcycle are quite functional and give good rear view visibility. The only modern feature present on the Wizard is the electric starter button. Talking about the build quality, it remains shoddy and unfinished at some places, thus leaving a lot of room for quality improvements.
Wizard 125 Ride & Handling
The Skygo Wizard sits on a tubular frame and comes equipped with a set of telescopic forks at the front and a pair of adjustable coil springs at the rear. The overall ride quality is quite decent for slow city commutes, however, the skinny tyres at both front and rear make the handling quite unpredictable and wavy at high speeds. The bike comes fitted with drum brakes at both the ends, the feedback from which is okay as well.
Skygo Wizard 125 Engine & Fuel Consumption
While the Skygo Wizard might not appeal to you at heart with its boring and old school design in this modern era, where it tries to shine a bit is the powertrain department. The Skygo Wizard comes fitted with a four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 124.12cc engine, which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of pumping out a decent 11.4PS of maximum power output and a peak torque output of 8.5Nm.
Wizard 125 Braking & Safety
It is quite obvious that the Skygo Wizard, being an entry-level motorcycle, is not equipped with state-of-the-art features. However, it would have been appreciable if the motorcycle would have come with a front disc brake, at least as an option.
Skygo Wizard 125 Verdict
To start with, the Skygo Wizard might not appeal as a go-to motorcycle at first place, owing to just its boring visual appeal. The styling is not at all desirable, as the overall dated looks might make you run away from this motorcycle. However, it stays functional and gives priority to practicality over form with its perky engine and decent ride quality and load carrying ability. If you are too strict on your budget, the Skygo Wizard might fit in your requirement list.
