Suzuki Avenis Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The Suzuki Avenis takes on the sports scooter category with its affordable pricing and promising 125cc engine, which we have already seen in the slightly bigger and maxi-scooter-inspired Burgman Street. However, unlike Burgman Street, the Avenis follows a different approach with a sharper design language. The Suzuki Avenis is available in the Philippines two-wheeler market in Metallic Matte Black, Pearl Blaze Orange, and Pearl Mirage White colour options.

Suzuki Avenis Design
With the Avenis, Suzuki has come up with a fine-looking scooter that should attract more and more younger scooter buyers. The sharp lines and aggressive-looking bodywork make the Suzuki Avenis much sportier than it is, which is comparable to slightly bigger 150cc scooters.
At the front, the Suzuki Avenis has a sharp-looking apron with several aggressive lines that make it look edgy. The front apron has been given a dual-tone treatment, with its central part made of black plastic and a hexagonal design for it. The compact U-shaped headlamp at the lower tip of the front apron is a full-LED unit with daytime running LEDs on its sides. The headlamp also gets vertically-aligned air vents, which add a sense of aerodynamic appeal to the front profile. The handlebar cowl also looks visually nice with clear lens turn indicators integrated on its sides.
The Suzuki Avenis gets sharp and pointy-looking extensions on the lower sides of the front apron, which extend towards the floorboard. The pointier extensions on the sides leave a slightly lesser movement for knees, which can be a slight issue for taller riders. The lower panels below the floorboard flow towards the rear side body panels and neatly integrate the alloy pillion footrests and a small inclined portion to rest your feet. The side panels of the Suzuki Avenis also get a dual-tone treatment, with snazzy-looking lines and gloss black badges.
At the back, the Suzuki Avenis has a sporty-looking tail section, with split LED tail lamps neatly accommodated within a blacked-out housing. Above the tail lamp, the scooter gets external fuel filler and split pillion grab rails. Despite the outer opening of the fuel filler cap, the Suzuki Avenis gets a compact 21-litre storage space beneath its long seat. The rear profile of the Avenis gets motorcycle-like separately-mounted turn indicators on the rear fender.
The sharp-looking handlebar cowl of the Suzuki Avenis comes integrated with a fully-digital LCD instrument console, which has been shared with Burgman Street. This console shows digital readouts for the speedometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, engine temperature gauge, clock, and trip computer.
Avenis Ride & Handling
Apart from the engine, much of the underbody mechanicals of the Suzuki Avenis have been taken from Burgman Street, including the frame and suspension combination of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided hydraulic coil spring at the rear. It also gets the same tyre combination of 90/90-12 front tyre and 90/100-10 rear tyre, and the braking combination of a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Measuring 1895mm long, 710mm wide and 1175mm tall, the Avenis has a wheelbase of 1265mm, a seat height of 780mm, ground clearance of 160mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 5.2 litres.
Suzuki Avenis Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Suzuki Avenis shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124cc engine with the Burgman Street, which has impressive levels of refinement and power delivery in the mid-range. The engine is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 8.7 PS and a peak torque output of 10 Nm.
Avenis Braking & Safety
Except for a key shutter mechanism for the multi-functional ignition keyhole and a front disc brake, the Suzuki Avenis has no other safety features.
Suzuki Avenis Verdict
The Suzuki Avenis retains the excellent engine and chassis, including the suspension, tyres, and brakes of the Suzuki Burgman Street, which itself is a great thing, to begin with. What it does differently from Burgman Street is the way it looks – the edgy-looking bodywork is very different from the maxi-scooter, which should impress more younger buyers.
