UM Xtreet RC 125

There are very few entry-level motorcycles that hit the sweet spot of appealing as desirable based on their styling. The UM Xtreet RC 125 belongs to the rare breed. The lean profile, coupled with edgy panels and stylish bits, make the UM Xtreet RC 125 look premium for an entry-level 125cc commuter.

At the front, the UM Xtreet RC 125 gets a triangular headlamp, which is divided into two halves – while the lower LED unit is for low beam, the upper halogen unit is for high beam setup. The headlamp is encased in a slim-looking cowl, which is flanked by LED turn indicators. There is an additional black-colored visor above the headlamp, which comes integrated with a couple of small daytime running lights.

The UM Xtreet RC 125 looks quite aggressive yet sleek when viewed from the side. The fuel tank of the motorcycle looks fancy, courtesy of its edgy look and the incorporation of slim LED light bars on the vertically-laid fuel tank extensions. These additional panels and lights make the UM Xtreet RC 125 look bigger motorcycle than it is.

The black-themed engine here gets a sporty-looking compact engine cowl beneath it. To make it look sporty, UM has painted the alloy wheels and the exposed trellis frame of the motorcycle in contrasting colors in every paint scheme. This choice of colors does make the UM Xtreet RC 125 look quite extrovert for its category.

Towards the rear, the UM Xtreet RC 125 has a sharply raked but wide tail section, which ends up with split pillion grab rails and a vertically-aligned set of LED tail lamps. The long rear fender, which comes attached with LED turn indicators, is removable to make the rear profile of the UM Xtreet RC 125 look outright race-ready. The motorcycle also comes fitted with a tire hugger over the rear wheel.

The UM Xtreet RC 125 also gets a fancy-looking instrument console behind its slim-looking handlebar adorned with good-quality switchgear. This instrument console has an LCD panel for the speedometer, odometer, trip meters, and fuel gauge. It also has a dedicated round-shaped unit for the analog tachometer.

The UM Xtreet RC 125 is bestowed with a suspension combination comprising conventional hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The overall suspension setup is decently comfortable for short commutes and makes the UM Xtreet RC 125 an agile handler for its stance. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch tubeless tires and gets a braking combination comprising of petal disc brakes on both ends.

While the UM Xtreet RC 125 looks outright sporty due to its extrovert design, the engine powering is not that sporty in feel. The engine on duty is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124cc engine, which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and pumps out a maximum power output of 10 PS and a peak torque output of 10 Nm. While these figures do not make the UM Xtreet RC 125 a fast motorcycle, it makes it a decent performer for quick city commutes.

While the UM Xtreet RC 125 is not as sophisticated as bigger motorcycles in terms of safety, it gets a couple of nifty features like a lockable ignition keyhole and a burglar alarm, which buzzes if a wrong key is inserted in the keyhole.

The UM Xtreet RC 125 is a smart and sporty-looking motorcycle, which should surely appeal to those who want a budget-friendly entry-level motorcycle. With a decent amount of features, performance, and riding comfort, it is a motorcycle that should be there in your consideration list of prospective motorcycles.
