The JMC N700 is one of the most premium light-duty trucks one can buy in the market today. Positioned above the JMK6 in the light-duty truck lineup of Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer JMC, the N700 is a cab and chassis truck with a 12-feet long cargo body. Available in a single variant, the only colour option on offer for the JMC N700 is white.

JMC N700 Interior & Features
Just like the exterior, the interior of the JMC N700 is also a bit more modern and smartly designed for a light-duty truck. The overall layout of the cabin is finished in a slightly premium looking combination of black and grey, with the pleasant layout giving it a feel of a passenger car cabin.
The JMC N700 has broad two-spoke steering with audio controls mounted on its right spoke. The instrument console placed behind it looks decent with its triple-pod design. The centre console here looks wide, which is finished in an all-black theme and gets a host of bits. The upper corners of the centre console have squared AC vents with an open storage cavity in between them. Just below this open storage cavity, there is a 1-DIN audio system, below which there is another small storage cavity.
The lower part of the centre console gets rounded dials for the manual AC. On the other hand, the co-passenger side of the dashboard has a closed glovebox and an AC vent with a cup holder placed below it.
N700 Exterior
When it comes to design, the overall visual appearance of the JMC N700 might look very generic and old-school to some. However, there are a couple of design elements, which make the JMC N700 looks a bit more premium when compared to similarly sized and priced light-duty trucks.
At the front, the JMC N700 has its front profile divided into two halves. The upper half is dominated by the presence of a large windshield, which has curved upper corners, tapered lower corners and rounded upper and lower edges. The windshield wipers are mounted on a plain white panel below the windshield. Below the tapered lower corners of the windshield, there are body-coloured mounts for the long rearview mirrors, which have curved stalks flowing towards the sides.
The lower half of the front profile mainly consists of two aspects. First is the big-sized trapezoidal headlamps, which have projector bulbs for the low-beam setup, halogen headlamps below them for the high beam setup and clear lens turn indicators above them. These headlamp housings have curved lower outer edges.
Another main design element of the front profile is the two-slat grille, which has trapezoidal layouts and comes with big JMC branding above them. The front bumper here is an all-black unit within which you do get small trapezoidal fog lamps.
The side profile of the cabin of the JMC N700 looks fairly large and wide for its size. Here also, the upper half of the door panel is completely covered by the window panel, which has a tapering down window waistline. Here, the blacked-out door handles are laid out vertically on the lower right corner of the door panel. The lower-left corner of the door panel has triangular clear lens turn indicators mounted on it.
JMC N700 Ride & Handling
The JMC N700 shares its basic ladder-on-frame platform with the smaller JMK6, but it gets a longer cargo body, which measures 12-feet in length. For the main suspension unit, the JMC N700 gets leaf springs with shock absorbers at both ends, while for the braking unit, the truck comes equipped with hydraulic service brakes and a mechanical parking brake.
N700 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The JMC N700 shares its 2.8-litre four-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine with the smaller JMK6. Here too, the engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox and pumps out a maximum power output of 107 bhp and a peak torque output of 260 Nm.
JMC N700 Braking & Safety
The JMC N700 is one of the few entry-level light-duty trucks which comes with ABS as standard equipment. Apart from this, it also gets a lockable and tilting cabin and seat belts.
