The MG GT is one of the most affordable ways for car buyers to get a fun but practical turbocharged sedan without breaking the bank. 

For reference, the model’s top-spec GT Sport version’s 1.5-liter turbocharged mill can produce up to 159 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque. Besides having a decent amount of technological features, the GT also has the characteristics to make it a good daily driver. Specifically, a car anyone can use to lug around sports equipment on the weekends, groceries, or luggage during out-of-town trips. 

In total, its trunk can accommodate up to 401 liters of cargo. Plus, the interior has plenty of cubby holes for knick-knacks and small items. Even its plush front cabin center armrest has a decently sized storage bin. 

Yet another feature of the GT that makes it great for daily driving is its leather-style seats. Mind you, it is not made out of real animal hide but is a durable but soft synthetic material that tends to be more resistant to damage and is easier to clean. The said seat covers may be able to do well against the rigors of energetic or even messy kids.

Rich with creature comforts

Despite its relatively low price range, the GT gives its occupants a lot of creature comforts. 

For the driver specifically, the sedan offers a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, a push-to-start button, cruise control, keyless entry, and an automatic climate control system with rear vents. 

Notably, finding one’s preferred driving position in the GT is quite easy. The aforementioned is thanks to its six-way electronically-adjustable driver’s seat. A manually adjustable lumbar support provides extra comfort for the person piloting the car. 

For driving on a sunny day or upping the mood when going on beach trips, the MG GT also gets a sunroof. The said feature can automatically open with a push of a button, plus it gets a manual cover, allowing sunshine in without letting the cool air from the climate control system out. 

Final thoughts

With its affordable pricing of P1,015,888 for the entry-level Alpha and P1,193,888 million for the top-spec Sport, the GT’s interior offers a lot. 

To sum it up, it can fit the bill as a practical daily driver or road trip chariot. It also has a decent amount of high-tech features for entrainment and safety, as well as plenty of driving features and creature comforts. 

It is a well-rounded car once we factor in its performance and exterior styling. As such, many might be looking to jump into this MG model as their next big purchase.
