4 qualities that make the Suzuki Jimny a true off-roader
In 2019, the sought-after new iteration of the Jimny was finally made available in the country. Suzuki positions this mini SUV as a practical off-roader, but its cute appearance, not to mention fuel efficiency, also makes it ideal for a grocery run or even daily driver.
If you’ve been wanting to embark on a weekend jaunt in paths less traveled, but have no appropriate ride to bring you to the trails, then the Jimny needs serious consideration.
We take a look on the four things that Suzuki Jimny offers to enable your off-road adventures.
Functional exterior design
You might be thinking that the Jimny appears to be too tiny compared to other typical off-roaders. Well, note that Suzuki reasonably designed this vehicle with smaller dimensions so it can easily pass through tight mountain trails, which are not accessible to large off-roaders.
Although it cuts a small profile, the Suzuki Jimny still manages to give off a muscular and rugged look. The roof is installed with a drip rail to prevent any leakage when driving in rainy weather. The Jimny also sports a pair of round LED headlamps which are equipped with washers for better visibility when passing through muddy and dusty terrains.
Logical interior look
The Jimny carries a horizontal instrument panel design that can serve as a reference point to manage the angle of the vehicle when trekking through bumpy roads. The interior accents revolve around a simple color palette, which is composed of black, chrome, white, and red, to maintain a serious off-roading ambiance.
The vehicle’s nine-inch touchscreen multimedia audio display is also equipped with off-road functions such as clinometer, compass, altimeter, and barometer.
Powerful performance
Under the Jimny’s hood is a compact but powerful 1.5-liter K15B engine. The top trims use a four-speed automatic transmission, while the base variant’s engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Suzuki Jimny uses a four-wheel-drive system for a smoother off-road performance, but it can be shifted to two-wheel drive for lower fuel consumption.
Suzuki safety support
The Jimny is equipped with Suzuki’s safety technologies to boost the driver’s confidence on the road. It has hill hold control and hill descent control features for better stability when driving through steep slopes. Suzuki Jimny also uses pedal release system on the brake and clutch. Suzuki further guarantees the protection of all the Jimny’s occupants with the help of its additional modern safety features including an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist function, reverse parking camera, and reverse parking sensor.
