The vehicle also employs Variable Valve Timing with intelligence Wide (i-W) and VVY-I to let the engine switch between Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles. The powertrain delivers 296hp and 370Nm of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that enhances the vehicle’s performance and efficiency. The RX 350L also comes with a Drive Mode Select feature that gives the driver more control by choosing among three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and Eco.

Lexus Chief Engineer Takeaki Kato envisioned providing a smooth driving experience through the RX 350L. To deliver easy handling and driving pleasure, his engineering team, together with the production team, worked on the improvements for the suspension and body rigidity.

The shock absorbers of the new RX 350L come with a Friction Control Device that reduces high-frequency vibrations caused by road surface imperfections. They also help the vehicle achieve excellent responsiveness.
