Cabin check: What’s inside the Zeekr X?

Zeekr is now offering the X fully-electric crossover in the Philippines. It is an attractive option for buyers who are looking for a stylish but high-tech electric vehicle (EV) with the potential for driving enjoyment.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price of the Zeekr X in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, the Zeekr X Premium is priced at P2.6 million, while the Privilege retails at P3 million.
  • How much horsepower and torque can the Zeekr X produce?

In its most powerful form, the Zeekr X can produce up to 422 horsepower and 543 Newton-meters of torque.
  • Performance-wise, the Zeekr X’s most capable trim is the Privilege, with its 422-horsepower electric motor paired with an all-wheel-drive system. The model, in general, also gets loads of safety technologies, as well as a distinct exterior that features sharp-looking details all around.

But what about the insides of the Zeekr X? What is its interior offering to prospective buyers? Let’s find out.

    No shortage of tech

For the Zeekr X to provide a cockpit-like front cabin, it was equipped with a pair of carefully positioned high-definition displays on its shapely dashboard.

The largest screen inside the Zeekr EV is a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen display. For easy smartphone connectivity, the said screen is packaged with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle’s infotainment system can also accept commands via a Zeekr’s Voice Assist system which leverages artificial intelligence in order to directly control in-car music and temperature.

Beyond its smartphone linking options, the central display leverages the power of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The said processor goes together with 16 gigabytes (gb) of random access memory (RAM), as well as a 128 gb high-speed hard drive. All together, the said components make for a seamless and smooth user experience any tech junkie would love.

Apart from being smart, the infotainment system aboard the X is linked to a premium 13-piece Yamaha sound system.

For the driver, meanwhile, the X has two ways of monitoring car-related information. The first is a customizable 8.8-inch digital cluster, which is oriented for optimum legibility while being discrete enough to give the driver an uninterrupted line of sight.

The driver of Zeekr’s electric-powered crossover may also use a 24-inch augmented-reality heads-up display (HUD) projected on the vehicle’s windshield for navigation and monitoring various driving data.

Keeping devices powered up inside the X is easy, thanks to its wireless smartphone charging pad. The vehicle also has several USB ports in the front and rear cabins.

    Adorned with high-quality materials

Most of the insides of the Zeekr X are clad in various high-quality materials.

For starters, the EV’s headliner is wrapped in 1.82 meters of microfiber wool. Its front and rear seats, on the other hand, are upholstered in perforated leather. Smooth and soft polyurethane, meanwhile, is found on select sections of the vehicle’s interior door cards, on its center front cabin armrest, and parts of its dashboard.

To contrast the soft bits inside the X, key spots inside its cabin are decorated with polished metallic bits. The said pieces are found on the front seats and in several places on the dashboard.

Concerning plastics, the Zeekr X does not get a lick of the hard and scratchy type that’s often present on more affordable car models. It does use the said material in some sections, but the said bits are not hollow sounding and are visually sheeny and smooth to the touch.

    Rich with features

Beyond its premium materials and high-tech displays, the Zeekr X gets a heap of onboard amenities to elevate the luxury it provides.

The X's roof has an arc-shaped fixed sunroof, which is useful for upping the excitement of the vehicle’s occupants while on out-of-town trips or when driving to and from outdoor activities.

To enhance the mood inside the EV, it also comes standard with a total of 17 ambient lighting sets. The said lighting fixtures are all LEDs and are installed in key areas of the crossover. The most visible ones are on the dashboard and on the interior door cards.

A dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system keeps all of Zeekr X’s occupants cool and comfortable. In the front cabin, the seats have power adjustment and a cooling function for the driver’s seat.

Other notable interior features of the Zeekr X include an auto-chromic rear-view mirror, a power tailgate, an N95 filter for its air-conditioning, and an electronic parking brake, among others.

    Variants, Price

    For reference, here are the prices of the two locally available Zeekr X variants;

    • X Premium: P2.6 million
    • X Privilege: P3 million

    Final thoughts

The Zeekr X, like its Zeekr 001 shooting brake sibling, offers a plush interior filled with high-tech amenities. But beyond its plushness, it also highlights the car brand’s knack for packaging.

To note, the X is a compact crossover SUV, but the brand clearly managed to fit in so much inside it while still having a generous amount of room for heads, shoulders, legs, and even cargo.

However, for those serious about purchasing the Zeekr EV, do take a moment to give the model a good and thorough test drive. Merely describing its inside can only do so much, and getting first-hand experience of what it provides may boil down to a more informed purchase.
