Like all the other auto shows, this one also witnesses many launches and showcasing that give us a fair idea as to what will be the future scenario of the auto market in the Asia-Pacific region (if not globally). The Philippines being the part of which is also deemed to witness its share of changes and new introductions.
Here are top four cars that debuted in 2016 GIIAS and also hold a good chance to land on the Philippines in the near future.
1. Toyota Calya
The first car that we feel holds a good chance to soon visit the Philippines shore is Toyota Calya. The said car falls in the MPV category and at the on-going auto show it was seen along with its twin-sibling Daihatsu Sigra. For the Indonesian market, the car falls in the Low-Cost Green Car segment and so is equipped with a 3NR-VE 1.2-litre 4-CYL mill. The said mill belongs to the NR family of engines that also powers Toyota Avanza and produces 88 PS of power and 108 Nm of torque. On the dimension front, Calya is one of the smallest MPV in Toyota fleet with it being 120 mm shorter and 95 mm lower that Avanza.
2. Jeep Wrangler 'Cliffhanger Edition'
Jeep gave everybody a good sight at the 2016 GIIAS where the brand was seen all confident and vogue displaying Jeep Wrangler 'Cliffhanger Edition'. What made the whole showcasing even more special was the fact that the said car's production is only restricted to 25 units. Now coming to its exterior attributes this Jeep kid is blessed with BFGoodrich tires, carbon fiber bonnet, LED headlights and bold rear bonnet. Also, resting under its soft top is a 3.0-litre Pentastar V6 beast that effortlessly generates 230 hp of maximum power and 285 Nm of peak torque. Let's see if we get to see this Jeep beauty at the 2016 PIMS.

To the list of cars that we are expecting to soon see in the Philippines auto market is also present an MPV from the house of Mitsubishi. Displayed at the 2016 GIIAS as a concept, Mitsubishi XM MPV will enter production phase in around October 2017. The car once launched will compete with the like of Toyota Avanza, Suzuki Ertiga, and Honda Mobilio. One of the biggest attributes listed by the company about XM is its high ground clearance that allows it to slide smoothly through rough patches and flood conditions. Though information about its interior and under hood specifications in scares but it is expected to offer a spacious cabin along with elevated console and horizontal dashboard. The production version of the said car is expected to house a 1.5-litre petrol mill.
4. Honda Civic Hatch
Honda Civic is one of the most successful car present in Honda's long fleet of cars. According to Honda officials present at the show the company is not thinking of taking the concept to the production phase soon and it will all depend on consumers’ response.
