Single Cab
Kicking off the D-Max variant lineup is its two Single Cab trims.
For engines, under the hood of the Single Cab 4x2 is the 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC capable of making up to 148 horsepower (hp) and 350 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
The Single Cab 4x4 MT, meanwhile, is fitted with the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX. It can produce 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque at most. Both single-cab trims use a six-speed manual gearbox, but only the Single Cab 4x4 comes with a limited-slip differential.
Size-wise, the Single Cab D-Max is the smallest, with a length of 5,020-millimeters (mm), a width of 1,810-mm, and a height of 1,700-mm. The 4x4 version gets 220-mm of ground clearance, while the 4x2 has 195-mm of ground clearance.
On the outside, the Single Cab trims have manual-folding side mirrors, halogen lamps, and halogen taillights. They also ride on 15-inch steel wheels.
Inside, the Isuzu pick-up truck's entry-level variants were provided with hard, durable plastic for their interior pieces and fabric upholstery for their seats. The dashboards on these were likewise kitted out with a single-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and a 2-piece speaker system.
Handling safety for the Single Cab D-Max are dual front airbags, anti-lock braking, and traction control. The 4x4 trim also sports a transfer case protector.
LT
Next up is the LT, which starts the line of five-seater double-cab body styles for the D-Max.
Like the Single Cab trims, the LT’s 4x4 received the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX, and the 4x2 the 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC. Both also exclusively come with six-speed manual gearboxes, but only the LT 4x4 gets a limited-slip differential.
For the exterior and interior features of the LT, it largely shares the same kit as the Single Cab trim, save for its rear seats and rear doors. It also has the same safety kit as the Single Cab trims.
Size-wise, the LT 4x4 MT is 5,265-mm long, 1,870-mm wide, and 1,785-mm in height. The 4x2 MT version, on the other hand, is 5,285-mm long, 1,810-mm wide, and 1,695-mm in height.
LS-A
Upwards on the D-Max variant lineup is the LS-A. it exclusively uses the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX engine, and it is available with a 4x4 drivetrain paired with a six-speed manual (4x4 MT), a 4x2 drivetrain with a six-speed automatic gearbox (4x2 AT), and a 4x2 version with a manual transmission (4x2 MT).
Only the LS-A 4x4 MT comes with a differential lock and Isuzu’s new Rough Terrain Mode.
The LS-A also received a more stylish exterior fitted with 18-inch wheels. It also received new curtain bezel front fog lamps, a new 3-dimensional design grille, and new triple-wing LED taillights, which were included with the 2024 update.
The LS-A's exterior also features power-folding side mirrors, a bed liner, a cargo extender, roof rails, a front bumper guard, and side steps. Only the LS-A 4x4, however, comes standard with LED headlamps and LED daytime running lamps.
Concerning size, the LS-A clocks in at 5,277-mm long, 1,880-mm wide, and 1,810-mm in height. To note, the aforementioned dimensions apply to the rest of the higher-spec D-Max trims mentioned below.
Inside, the LS-A’s occupants are kept comfortable by fabric seats and rear air-conditioning vents. Like the lower-spec trims, the LS-A’s steering wheel was wrapped in urethane, but its driver also gets to use a rear window defogger and a day and night rear-view mirror.
The D-Max LS-A's nine-inch touchscreen display provides onboard entertainment and navigation. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a six-piece speaker system.
For safety, the LS-A is kitted out with two airbags, anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, four front parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a transfer case protector for the LS-A 4x4 version.
LS-A Plus
As of the introduction of the 2024 Isuzu D-Max for the Philippines, it received the new LS-A Plus trims. The latter, like the regular LS-A, comes in three versions: a 4x4 MT, 4x2 AT, and the 4x2 MT. It also features the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX for all three aforementioned trims.
The LS-A Plus largely shares the same feature set for its exterior and interior as the LS-A, but it was improved with several choice additions.
For starters, it is fitted with the smaller nine-inch infotainment screen rather than the larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, which also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition, the LS-A Plus’ safety kit was beefed up with blind spot turn assist features, a 360-degree view camera, four front parking sensors, and a built-in digital video recording system.
LS-E
Sitting as the top-of-the-line trim of the D-Max is the LS-E. It is available locally in two versions, the LS-E 4x4 AT and the LS-E 4x4 AT. Both aforementioned trims are provided with the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX engine, as well as a six-speed automatic transmission. Obviously, only the 4x4 version gets a differential lock, Rough Terrain Mode, and a transfer case protector.
On the outside, the LS-E is equipped with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights, a set of 18-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding side mirrors. It is the only trim that comes with a pair of LED front fog lamps, a pair of rear fog lamps, the new cargo sail, and automatic functionality for its headlamps.
Likewise exclusive to the interior of the LS-E is a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a remote engine starting function, a seven-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an eight-piece speaker system, leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Out of all the D-Max trims, the LS-E also received the most safety features. Standard on the said variant is seven airbags, anti-lock braking, stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, four front parking sensors, four rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree view camera.
The LS-E also gets new additions to the LS-E Plus, which include a blind spot turn assist feature and a built-in digital video recording system.
It is also the only variant equipped with a set of advanced driver-assist features, including rear-cross traffic braking, adaptive cruise control, turn assist, pedal mis-application mitigation, rear-cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.
