Here’s what’s inside the Kia K2500

The Kia K2500 is the dedicated workhorse of the South Korean car brand. It has been a staple in the Philippine commercial scene providing many business owners and fleet operators with a reliable light-duty mover for both creature and cargo.

And while many of us are familiar with the practical and functional exterior of the Kia K2500, not many of us have seen what it looks like from the inside. On that note, we take a look at what’s inside the cabin of Kia’s commercial offering.

Modern cabin

Surprisingly, the Kia K2500 has a modern-looking interior. As soon as the driver steps in the cabin, he — or she — is greeted by a two-spoke steering wheel adorned by the latest Kia logo.

No controls are found on the steering wheel but past it is an instrument cluster that combines both analog gauges and digital meters. The instrument panel displays relevant driving information such as the speedometer, tachometer, and trip meter.

To its side are large air conditioning vents for the dual or single A/C unit and below it is a provision for a single DIN audio unit, or a touchscreen infotainment system if one would like to install an aftermarket rear camera.

Roomy interior

The cabin of the Kia K2500 is quite roomy.

While it can comfortably fit two occupants at the front, a third — petite — passenger can still be accommodated.

The roomy interior allows Kia to fit seats with ample cushion, which are wrapped with vinyl material. Overall, the seats are comfortable and are easy to clean.

There’s also ample leg and head room for the occupants who will be sitting at the front.

Storage galore

The Kia K2500 offers plenty of storage spaces for a commercial vehicle.

One of the most impressive is its center armrest which folds down to give access to two cup holders and a spacious tray. The space can be used to hold coffee on-the-go, a place to eat one’s lunch, or a work area to write down notes or accomplish one’s delivery checklist.

To the passenger’s side is a relatively large glove box that can hold plenty of documents and has dedicated cubby holes for small items like pens and cigarettes.

Final thoughts

Overall the looks of the Kia K2500’s interior is basic, but beautiful.

As one would expect, it gets plenty of hard plastics allowing fleet owners to easily maintain the vehicle and keep it looking good for a long time.

The Kia K2500 is offered in a variety of body options. It has a base price of P1.020 million.
