Ford Philippines has the most extensive lineup of pickup trucks in the country. And this number doesn't even include the Ranger Raptor and the F-150, it boasts of a whopping 12-trim range of the Ranger and we understand how it can become confusing to pick one.
We’ll try and simplify things by breaking down each of these Ranger trims to give you an overview of what each can do and so you’ll be able to tell which one is right for you.
Ranger XLS
The entry point to the Ranger lineup is the 2.2L XLS 4x2 MT (manual transmission). It is the most basic a Ranger can get. Powered by a 2.2-liter Durtorq engine, it has 158hp and 385Nm of torque and is driven by a six-speed manual transmission. Cabin features include an eight-inch color touchscreen and six speakers. It comes with anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, hydraulic power-assisted steering, and sits on 16-inch alloy wheels. This is priced at P1.032 million.
Just above it is the 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT (automatic transmission) that’s priced at P1.092 million and comes with the same features and amenities as its manual sibling, but this one comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and cruise control.
Sprucing up the 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT trim is the Sport variant. It is an mirror image in features and capabilities of its base 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT except it has side steps and larger 17-inch alloy wheels with black finish. The 2.2L XLS Sport 4x2 AT comes in at P1.122 million.
If you really want the base XLS trim but prefer an all four-wheel layout, the 2.2 XLS 4x4 MT is the best choice.
