Top Brands Aiming for Shotgun at MIAS 2016
MANILA: Dubbed as a biggest automotive trade show in the country, MIAS has now evolved as a summer tradition for all the auto aficionados. To celebrate its 11th anniversary, MIAS is back with the four-day affair which is going to open its door for the world from 7th April-10th April at the combined venues of the World Trade Center and the Philippines Trade training Center. This year the show will witness the total of almost 19 brands seeking your attention. Taking over 30,000 sq meters of indoor exhibition space, this year trade show is speculated to exhibit around 300 model offerings or so along with the exciting and unforgettable experience.
So without lingering on, here are the top stars that might shine at the show.
Hyundai: The South Korean automaker always have something up its sleeves and, this time, the brand is going to unfold its sleeves with its latest offerings and upgrades from the existing models. Apart from the models, this time, the Korean brand has also confirmed that it will land at the show with the eco-friendly and pocket-friendly cars along with its advanced technology of GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection). With the introduction of GDI technology in the country, Hyundai Veloster Turbo is also set to grace the country and we might also expect Elantra and Ioniq with its three powertrains which were earlier rolled out at NYC Auto 2016.
Ford: Ford along with other prominent brands is ready to come up with its fleet of cars to entice the crowd at the MIAS 2016. Ford has always been up at any given chance with its latest innovations and upgraded vehicles. This American automaker is again fully geared up to walk the ramp with its best of the drives including latest Focus 2016, all-new Everest and latest Ford Ranger. The company has not forgotten its compact SUV segment as it will be introducing an all-new special Midnight Edition of the Ford Ecosport.
Chevrolet: This American brand has already bagged quite an attention at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show and now it is going to take a centre-stage at the MIAS 2016 with its best-selling drives in all the segments. With the automobile industry flooded with the B-segment and C-segment vehicles, Chevrolet also wants a piece of action for itself. The brand will introduce the Chevrolet Sail and Cruze 2016 at the show which are expected to make it to the country's showrooms by the 3rd quarter. Apart from these sedans, the brand is also planning to roll out its new Camaro and Suburban for those seeking high-performance cars.
Kia: The South Korean automaker is already busy grabbing an attention with the launch for its new Kia Sportage and is planning to continue hogging attention at the Manila International Auto Show also. The fourth-generation compact crossover is the perfect example of refined, bold and dynamic. With the cutting-edge design, it will be powered by Euro-4 emissions compliant 2.0-litre engine. Kia will also be showcasing all-new Kia Optima in midsize sedan segment to lure those who wants something different.
Subaru: It has only been few days when this Japanese brand has created a much-wanted hype with its Impreza at the New York International Auto Show 2016. Now, to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the country, Subaru has created a buzz among the Filipinos and the rest of the world with its updated 2016 Forester. Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru in the country has recently confirmed that the updated Subaru Crossover will make its way to the Philippines after making its first ASEAN debut in Thailand.
Mitsubishi: It was no surprise when the Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) confirmed that they will be gracing the biggest trade show with their best-selling Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Already launched in January this year, Montero Sport contributes majorly accounting the second position of MMPC in February sales. Although, we don't have any firm news about the brand's other drives, but we can expect 2017 Mirage G4 to roll out at the show.
Ssangyong: The fourth largest Korean carmaker is making its way back to the country with the MIAS 2016. With the newly found distributor and the country's local ever-growing industry, Ssangyong is all set to offer its latest innovations to the Philippines. With becoming a pro in eco-friendly diesel technology, the Korean brands is planning to showcase its subcompact crossover, Tivoli at the show following by the introduction of its Korando, a crossover and Rodius, an MPV in the country later.
Apart from these prominent brands, a wide display of accessories and auto-related equipment including wheels, tires and audio units from the local as well global merchants will also be on display for those wanting to spice up their rides.
