Apart from the free flights and tournament passes, the winners along with their one chosen companion, will be given travel allowance, a city tour and four-day stay at Mövenpick West Bay Doha.Everyone who took a test drive of the 2022 Hyundai Creta throughout the month of September at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) or at any authorized Hyundai Motor dealership nationwide was eligible.
The draw took place at HMPH’s main office in Bonifacio Global City, last October, and Lloyd Canonce from Leyte and Danielle Lois San Miguel from Naga emerged as the two lucky individuals. Apart from the free flights and tournament passes, the winners along with their one chosen companion, will be given travel allowance, a city tour and four-day stay at Mövenpick West Bay Doha.
For Canonce, aged 37, he claims that it was fate. During a fiesta in his home municipality of San Miguel in Leyte, Hyundai Tacloban was in the area promoting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Test Drive Promo. Engrossed with the celebrations happening around, at first, the Leyte native was hesitant, but the looks of the 2022 Hyundai Creta, particularly the unique architecture of the front and boomerang-like rear design, intrigued him to get behind the wheel.
“I could not believe I won the raffle. After getting a call from a representative from Hyundai Motor Philippines, I immediately dropped by Hyundai Tacloban to confirm. And true enough, it was destiny that led me here,” he said. As an administrative aid and driver for the local government unit in his municipality, Canonce is used to bustling city streets, so the 2022 Hyundai Creta’s responsive performance and comfortable ride made a lasting impression to him.
Powerful and efficient, the 2022 Hyundai Creta is equipped with a 1.5-liter Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) engine. When shifting gears, this powertrain changes the ratio quicker and at the same time minimizes the loss of momentum, which results in a much smoother motion and better fuel economy. There is also a selection of Drive (Eco, Smart, Comfort and Sport) and Traction Control (Sand and Mud) Modes that aid in better handling of difficult terrain and road conditions.
For San Miguel, a 26-year-old architect for a local construction company, she and her family were really on the look for a subcompact SUV. En route to different showrooms, promotional posters bannered across the façade of Hyundai Naga caught their attention. They were then introduced by a sales consultant to the brand’s entry to the said segment.
The architect expressed: “I was very surprised, as the promo was open nationwide and surely joined by many. I didn’t have any expectations and just genuinely enjoyed the test drive then placed a reservation thereafter. This will truly be a core memory for me thanks to Hyundai.” Now a proud owner, San Miguel noted how everyone in her family was impressed by how safe and smart the new 2022 Hyundai Creta is.
Built to take care of not just passengers but also pedestrians, the 2022 Hyundai Creta comes with Hyundai Smart Sense. This is the brand’s advanced driver assistance system for added protection to avoid collisions. Included are Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA). Also helpful, especially when parking, are the Rear-View Monitor (RVM), Reverse Parking Distance Warning (RPDW) and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).
Furthermore, the 2022 Hyundai Creta has convenient features one of which is the Remote Engine Start, that enables the engine to be started and air-conditioning to be activated from the outside for a cooler temperature before onboarding. Aside from its Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring capabilities, there is also a Wireless Power Charger, which minimizes clutter from the front console and more importantly increases charging performance to at least 30% (data based on Samsung phone) for an even better hands-free experience.
“Congratulations to Lloyd and Danielle! We are excited for you to meet the rest of the country's winners and join the festivities at this year’s FIFA World Cup,” as per Cecil Capacete, HMPH’s Managing Director.
“We are also thankful to everyone across the country who took part and experienced first-hand the outstanding features that our subcompact SUV offers. HMPH was really excited to roll out this campaign, because not only did we get to rally more Filipinos towards our sustainability cause but also bring a much-deserved attention to the Creta. It embodies a fun-loving and hard-working personality, which we invite customers to see and meet for themselves at their nearest Hyundai Motor dealership.”
The 2022 Hyundai Creta starts at P998,000 with a PHP 98,000 low down easy-payment plan available for its three variants until the end of December.
Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) also unveiled the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Korean automaker's first entirely electric vehicle, at PIMS 2022. In January 2023 — the crossover utility vehicle (CUV), which was named the 2022 World Car of the Year — will make its formal debut in the Philippines.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in two variants on the global market, both of which are based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform: one option pairs a single electric motor with a 58 kWh battery pack, while the other pairs two electric motors with a 72.6 kWh battery.
While the latter is capable of producing 305 PS and 605 Nm, the former has a maximum power output of 170 PS and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. On both variants, a single-speed transmission is in charge of shifting.
