The cabin of the 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X is more on the practical side than being premium. The MPV is spacious and there’s a lot of room. In fact, practicality is this MPV’s strongest point. The seats are of faux-leather and are comfortable. A lot of hard plastics have been used in the cabin but that doesn’t affect the look and feel. The door cards in the car are all plastic and Hyundai has done a nice job to make them look appealing.

The cabin of the Stargazer X isn’t exactly generic and a few questionable choices do exist. But it’s still well-designed and rather detailed. The rear air vents of the 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X retains the novel design from its earlier version. The dashboard is dominated by a touchscreen unit and the air-conditioning control system. The slanting windshield doesn’t offer the best of visibility. But it’s not an impediment to the drive quality. A more open dashboard would have been better for this car because the front glass is small compared to the vehicle’s design.

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X comes ambient lights in the cup holders. The interior gets a nice blue shade that plays with black, grey, and light-tone plastics that create an inviting look. Overall, the cabin of the Stargazer X is a nice place to be in.   

Passenger and boot space

Hyundai is offering captain seat configurations as standard in the 2024 Stargazer X. These seats come with an armrest, allowing passengers on the second row to ease their hands. It also allow passengers to freely adjust the seat. The cabin derives more space because of the captain seats. The MPV’s synthetic lather seats are decorated with red stitching that forges a luxurious and bold impression. The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X also comes with a foldable table for passengers on the second row. Like most MPVs, the third row isn’t exactly spacious. It’s best reserved for kids.

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X comes with 200 liters of boot space. Folding down the third row increases the space to 585 liters.

Comfort and entertainment

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system has four speakers. There’s a 4.2-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster. This is a really small unit compared to other cars in the segment but still manages to serve the purpose. The manual air-conditioning offers fast cooling. All three rows come with cup holders. There are a few storage spaces to keep knick knacks.

Hyundai has retained the Staria’s futuristic fascia, complete with an LED strip, to come up with the front-end look of the Stargazer X. It will remind of the Robocop mug. The front-end is rounded and suggests a friendly and welcoming appearance. Paired with a large grille, the fascia of the 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X is an immediate attention grabber. But the look may appear extreme to some buyers. The car’s front clip seamlessly joins with the A-pillar, lending the car an egg shape. It’s similar to that of the Hyundai Staria and may not appeal to a section of buyers. The roofline has no distinct start and end point. The oddly oval-type exterior also lends the car a somewhat futuristic look. But Hyundai has managed to get the fundamentals right with an all-round LEDs and parametric shapes, a shapely profile and an eye-catching rear-end. The rather round-shaped exterior makes the 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X look smaller compared to its boxy rivals. But that also makes the car look unique along with the added black plastic claddings. The car runs on bigger, 17-inch alloy wheels.

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X is a fairly lightweight car. Despite the increased wheelbase, it’s easy to handle the car on city streets. It turns corners easily. On the highway, the MPV returns a very stable and linear performance.

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X is hauled by a naturally aspirated, four-cylinder, 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 113PS maximum power at 6,300rpm and 144Nm peak torque at 4,500rpm. The motor is mated to Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). It’s the same powertrain that hauls the 2023 standard Stargazer. The IVT is essentially a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that uses a toothed chain instead of a flexible belt. There’s no slip in power delivery as it often happens with a CVT. But the IVT, at lower revs, takes time to respond.

The 2024 Hyundai Stargazer X is mounted on McPherson struts in the front and torsion-beam at the back. The suspension is well-balanced and road imperfections are hardly felt inside the cabin. The ride quality is rather supple compared to other MPVs. The engine itself is decently powerful and perfect for an MPV. The transmission is seamless, though the updated Stargazer misses a manual option.
