2019 Mazda 6 Turbo and Sports Wagon are in the Philippines

MANILA: People may say that the times of sedans are gone. But make no mistake as the sedans are here to stay for longer than we think. With that said, Mazda, one of the many Japanese auto giants, has brought out its executive sean, i.e., Mazda 6 in the Philippines. Also making its way to the country is the Mazda 6 Sports Wagon. Following the launch of the Mazda 6 SkyActiv-D sedan, the newly launched model carries a 2.5-litre turbocharged gasoline-fed engine.

On the outside, both the executive sedan and the sports wagon flaunt adaptive headlights, LED taillamps, 19-inch alloys, typical Mazda curves, and a sunroof. Moving inside, the upholstery has been done in Nappa leather and the other amenities that are present inside include power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, two USB ports for the rear passengers, a heads-up display, and much more.

Powering the executive sedan is a 2.5-litre turbocharged motor that makes 231 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 420 Nm. Mazda claims this powertrain allows a 0-100 kmph run to be accomplished in less than 7 seconds. Interestingly, unlike the Mazda 6 SkyActiv-D, the gasoline-fed Mazda 6 doesn’t come equipped with the i-Stop system, which turns the engine off when the car is either at a signal or in motionless traffic for reducing the fuel consumption.

The Mazda 6 Sports Wagon, on the other hand, gets its juices from a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated mill that is capable enough of churning out 190 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 252 Nm. The Mazda 6 2.5 SkyActiv-G 2.5 Turbo Sedan and the Mazda 6 SkyActiv-G 2.5 Sports Wagon have been priced at Php 1,995,000 and Php 2,250,000, respectively. In case you want the 2.2 SkyActiv-D, at Php 2,250,000, the diesel-powered executive sedan carries a price tag identical to the turbocharged gasoline-fed sedan.
