2019 Toyota Avanza images leaked

MANILA: Images of the 2019 Toyota Avanza have been leaked online. The 3rd generation of the MPV seems to be arriving with significant changes in terms of design, though things under the hood remain the same.

The 2nd generation model was launched seven years ago and a facelift was released around 3 years back. The 3rd generation, however, is not a new vehicle altogether, since it underpins the same platform. Rather, it will be a refreshed model of the older version with a completely new look. The small seven-seater will share the looks with the much bigger stablemates, the Alphard and the Vellfire.

In the leaked photos, the headlights of the car can be seen in a split arrangement. The main beam of the headlight is moved above the auxiliary lights and the turn signals have been housed at the bottom. Single Thick Trim front grill of the car looks good.

The front bumper has been redesigned with sharper corners, which gives the car a wider appearance. The engine hood is also tweaked a bit and the MPV now looks bolder than the outgoing version.

The platform on which the MPV is built remains the same, as evident from the images. It is expected that the tail light clusters may be altered for the Philippines spec Avanzas. The engine is reportedly carried forward from the existing model with the same power outputs. You can expect either a 1.3-litre or a 1.5-litre engine with Dual VVT-i tech with respective power outputs of 95 PS and 103 PS. As for the transmission, the current model offers options of four-speed automatic and five-speed manual, which are likely to be retained for the upcoming models as well.

The people of the Philippines have to wait as there is no official launch date announced yet.
