2020 BMW Z4 gets the full AC Schnitzer treatment
MANILA: Renowned German tuning AC Schnitzer is going back to its first love—the BMW, after introducing its aftermarket kits for the 2020 Toyota GR Supra.
Though the whole Z4 line will get various upgrades, even for the entry versions, the top-of-the-line Z4 M40i gets plenty of love. Under the hood, the M40i standard turbocharged straight-six engine that packs 340 Hp of power and 500 Nm of torque now delivers 400 Hp of maximum power and 600 Nm of peak torque—if you are buying one in the United States. If you are in Europe, you get the lesser, yet still powerful, 382 Hp due to more stringent emissions standard.
The BMW tuning specialist from Aachen will also release power upgrades for the 30i and 20i versions that will elevate the current 258 Hp of power and 400 Nm of torque of the 30i engine and 197 Hp of power and 320 Nm of torque of the 20i.
To match the performance upgrade, AC Schnitzer also developed an imposing body kit starting with a set of four “Sport Carbon” or “Sport Black” tailpipes for the flagship model with two tailpipes each on the right and left side for exhaust. For the 30i and 20i versions, it comes with 2 pieces per set for the left and right combination.
Other upgrades for the exterior include a front splitter, two-piece rear spoiler for increased downforce, chunky side skirts for intake effect and adds visual look, and hood vents for improving air circulation in the engine.
To complete the more aggressive look, you can replace the Z4’s standard wheel with the custom AC Schnitzer 20-inch alloy rims available in two different designs: AC3 Lightweight Forged Wheels and AC1 light-alloy rims. The AC3 is wrapped in 9.0 x 20″ with 255/30 R 20 tires at the front and 10.0J x 20″ with 275/30 R20 tires at the rear. While the AC1 is covered in 8.5J x 20″ with 255/30 R 20 tires at the front and 10.0J x 20″ with 275/30 R20 tires at the rear.
For improved handling, you can also buy an AC Schnitzer suspension kit that lowers your ride by 25 mm and 35 mm at the front and 20 and 30 mm at the rear for the Z4 20i and 30i, respectively. The range-topping Z4 M40i gets more love with an adjustable suspension with a lowering of 15 to 25 mm at the front and 15 to 25 mm at the rear.
For the inside cabin upgrades, AC Schnitzer designed aluminum shift paddle set, aluminum pedals, aluminum footrest, and aluminum key holder so you get the complete AC Schnitzer treatment.
And for your peace of mind, AC Schnitzer will also throw in a 5-year warranty when the BMW Z4 rolls out of the workshop in Aachen.
